The “Long Island Medium” is in the sixth season of her TLC show but suddenly she has some competition with Rosie Cepero, who is the woman who talks to angels on her TLC show “Angels Among Us.” These two shows seem almost identical in venue except for some of the terminology.
According to TV Ruckus on Sept. 28, Rosie claims to be a medium who talks to angels who have messages for the living. Then there’s Theresa Caputo who is a medium who talks to dead people and brings their loved ones a message when she’s asked to. Not much difference here.
Neither women can go shopping with their family because those impromptu readings put the shopping on the back burner and either a “Spirit” is trying to say something through Teresa Caputo or a “Guardian Angel” is contacting someone through Rosie Cepero.
Both women appear to have the same type of personality and both even have a similar New Yorker accent. So why would TLC air a show so similar to the “Long Island Medium?” Could it be that Theresa Caputo’s waning popularity has them covering all bases?
The shows are extremely similar and both are brought to you by the same network. Both women talk to dead people with the only difference being that one calls them “Spirit” and the other calls them “Guardian Angels.”
Caputo, whose show tickets would sell out within no time at all, still has over 1,000 seats empty for her Oct. 13 show in Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, North Carolina. That’s close to one-half of the 2,455 seats the auditorium offers. She is seeing the same with ticket sales at other bookings, reports RadarOnline.
The same thing is going on for her Boston show on Oct. 8. She still has 1,000 seats left out of the 3,500 seats that are offered in the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theater. She would pack them in not too long ago, even adding on a second show now and then to accommodate all her fans.
It seems that after word leaked out that she’s being investigated as a “fraud” her popularity seems to be heading south. With that said, there couldn’t be a worst time in her career for her new book to hit the shelves as her fan base doesn’t seem what it used to be.
“You Can’t Make That Stuff Up” is the name of Theresa’s new book, but apparently she has some critics saying that you absolutely can make that stuff up! You have to admit that Theresa is not only entertaining, but she does offer up a lot of uncanny information that she would have no way of knowing about the random people that she reads.
Theresa Caputo has wowed the masses with her seemingly ability to talk to the dead, but a private whistle blower is reportedly investigating her claims that she speaks to the dead. This along with some disgruntled ex-customers of hers is giving her a bad rap in the media.
RadarOnline reports fans have been “extremely disappointed” with Theresa’s tour performances. She is accused of giving “forced and uninspired readings to just a handful of the thousands in the audience.”
The new show “Angels Among Us” has Rosie, who is someone most will love the first time you meet her. She’s all about family and helping others, which again is very similar to Theresa. The little lady from Long Island had an instant fan club because she is so personable and loveable.
It could just be that just like with any other show, the “Long Island Medium” has had a great run and it’s slowing down. There will never be a perpetual series on television without an ending because things just get old and people look for something new, it is the nature of the beast. To say that Theresa is a fraud, seems like a very big stretch with all the happiness she’s responsible for since the “Long Island Medium” came to TV.
Chances are Rosie, who is just as wonderful as Theresa, will no doubt enjoy a long haul on TLC. No matter if it is angels, spirits or ghosts, if you have the gift to communicate with them, people want to know what they have to say!
