Maureen O’Hara fans are in luck, the actress is TCM’s star of the month for July. The classic movie channel will be airing 26 of his movies and they will be airing every Tuesday throughout July. The actress known as the “Queen of Technicolor” will be gracing primetime with some of her best movies.
The first movie to start off this event is the 1939 “Hunchback of Notre Dame.” That movie will be airing at 8 pm ET which every Tuesday during the month, her films will airing around that same time. Other movies to grace the screen are:
- “How Green Was My Valley”
- “The Forbidden Street”
- “Dance, Girl Dance”
- “The Black Swan”
- “Our Man in Havana”
- “At Sword’s Point”
- “Rio Grande”
- “The Fallen Sparrow”
O’Hara was born in August 17, 1920, in Ranelagh, Ireland. Some of her first movies were “Kicking the Moon Around,” a movie that was directed by Walter Forde, “My Irish Molly,” a British musical that was directed by Alex Bryce, that movie was where she used her real name, Maureen FitzSimons, and after those two she starred in the Hitchcock movie, “Jamaica Inn.” “Jamaica Inn,” was based off of Daphne du Maurier’s book of the same name.
Maureen O’Hara is an forgettable actress, she’s been awarded for many lifetime achievements from the Irish Film and Television Academy, a Hollywod walk of fame, a Heritage Award,Western Performers Hall of Fame, and several other awards for her work.
So once again O’Hara will be taking over TCM in July with 26 of her movies. This will be airing every Tuesday around at 8 p.m. ET. Fans will not want to miss this, and new fans will want to join in and see why O’Hara is one of the top actresses of her time.
