Meow Mix What’s the Catch Tuna and Shrimp in Sauce is one variety of cat food that my cats in the past enjoyed and one that our new kitten is enjoying now. It’s convenient, inexpensive and a decent quality of cat food.
Packaging And Product Information
Meow Mix What’s The Catch? Tuna and Shrimp in Sauce comes in a small foil single serve packet that weighs 2.75 oz. The package has the Meow Mix name of the front with the cool kitty cat face making the “M” in Meow Mix. You will also see a basket with a fish in the air.
Meow Mix claims this is a 100 percent nutritionally complete meal made from quality ingredients and cooked in their own juices. It is formulated for all life stages of cats so this can also be fed to a kitten.
The Kitties Taste Test!
We recently had a little visitor that popped out of the woods, a small cat. She stayed in the woods for over a week meowing before befriending Oreo, our dog, and coming out. She now feels right at home and does not mind Oreo or the puppies. In fact, I think that she thinks that she is ONE of the puppies! This food was a great choice for the new kitty whom we named Tiger. The packages are very convenient for using and contains just the right amount of food for one cat’s meal. Just tear at the notched portion at the top of the package, open and pour into your kitties’ bowl and dinner is served. It’s that simple.
Tiger gobbled this up the first time it was served and still loves it. She doesn’t stop until her bowl is licked totally clean. She manages to hold off the dogs from getting into her bowl. She is one aggressive little kitty when she needs to be. It’s funny to see the puppies move over to let her eat puppy food when they are eating.
My Thoughts on Meow Mix What’s the Catch? Tuna and Shrimp in Sauce
I like the ingredients in this food. It does not contain animal digest, by-products and unhealthy preservatives. The only one questionable is Carrageenan. Carrageenan is a common food additive and you may notice it in some human grade foods. Carrageenan is extracted from red seaweed and is used in foods as a gel substance. This substance coats the stomach lining and *could* cause some problems with digestion. Just like some people are sensitive to milk products you or your pet could be sensitive to Carrageenan. It has FDA approval because it comes from a natural source, but that however, does not redeem it as totally safe. Observe your pet when feeding this for the first couple of weeks and see if there is a reaction.
Meow Mix What’s The Catch? Tuna and Shrimp in Sauce looks like real pieces of meat sliced up into tiny pieces and served in gravy. The smell was like just like opening a can of tuna, very natural and not like the typical can of wet cat food with obnoxious odor.
One thing that I do find difficult about feeding this food is getting all of the food out of the pouch without assistance from a knife. It tends to stick to the crevices in the bottom of the package. Maybe if the package was made wider the folded crevice would be avoided?

I highly recommend this food. It is made with quality ingredients, looks and smells very fresh and my cat really loves it. I think this is most definitely one of the better cat foods on the market. The easy to open single serve pouches are also very convenient to use.
