What we now know as New York Fashion Week was the brainchild of Fern Mallis, the then Executive Director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) from 1991-2001.
The launch Spring Summer 2015 shows begin in the city that never sleeps: New York City with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week September 4 to 11. From Lincoln Center to venues around the town, designers will hit the big apple with savvy style and fashion. The New York schedule has been posted and it included a show for Perry Ellis with men’s wear debut collection by Michael Maccari based on the linear drawings of artist Sean Scully. American Couturier Ralph Rucci, design icons Carolina Hererra and Oscar de la Renta will be creating fashions that accentuate the refinement of the female form.
Grand master Zang Toi will be celebrating his 25th year in the industry and perfection. Project Runway will take the TV. show top finalists to show their wares. Also celebrating in style will be 30th Anniversaries for Donna Karan and Elie Tahari.
