Meredith Vieria is talking candidly about a time in her life when she was young, and trapped in an abusive relationship according to Wednesday, September 17 reports from Hollywood News Daily. On the Meredith Vieria Talk Show, host Meredith Vieria opened up about spending several years trapped in an abusive, and dangerously violent relationship when she was younger.
Vieria explained that her reasons for staying with this violent man was fear and guilt.The popular reporter and talk show host went into detail sharing some of the most frightening events of her life. She detailed why after the violent assaults started why she still stayed and continued to love a man who could cause her so much harm.
“There was the night, we shared an apartment, and he threw me into a shower, naked with scalding water, and then he threw me outside into the hallway,” she said.
Meredith Vieria, now 60-years old captivated the audience members while she described having t hid outside her apartment in the stairwell for hours a night until her boyfriend would come out for her crying an apologizing while promising to never hurt again through his tears.
But he did, Meredith Vieria reveals that the violence would often start during an argument and gravitate from there. Her BF would grab her arms often shoving her into walls, and threatening to ruin her budding career. “A lot of people say, ‘Well, who would stay in that situation? Somebody who doesn’t have the wherewithal to get out, the means to get out.’ I had that. I had a job at the time and I kept in this relationship,” she said.
Meredith Vieria claimed she was terrified for her life and lived in fear everyday that something terrible would happen to her if she tried to leave, but tat was not her only reasons for staying. She revealed that she felt guilt believing that she was somehow to blame for at least part of the problem.”Domestic violence … is really, really a complicated issue,” Vieria states, “It’s not so easy to just get away. You think it would be, but it’s not.”
