Moca Asian Bistro has it all…Fabulous food, warm gracious atmosphere, excellent service. Moca is slick, sexy with a high intensity energy. The restaurant is located in Woodbury, long island in one of nassau county’s elite shopping centers. Amidst a long row of high end name brand shops. Moca has developed a tremendous following. This restaurant has a beautiful interior design, with a large bar, fabulous asian wall decor, a sushi bar with a talented crew of sushi/sashimi chefs on hand.
Moca also has one of the most welcoming and charming hosts, Assistant General Manager Kevin Inkles. Kevin is youthful, enthusiastic, and a charismatic presence at the restaurant. He is joined by a high level team of Moca management: Evan Chen, board member and executive assistant, Henry Lin, General Manager, and manager Ivan Zhong. Each manager shares in the responsibility of making Moca into one of long island’s most exciting new restaurants.
We dined at Moca at the invitation of Kevin Inkles who helped make our evening into an absolute culinary delight.
Kevin made sure that we experienced the very best plates on Moca’s extensive pan asian menu
We began with a Sake coated Miso Black Cod dish that was simply awesome. Sweet with the Cod meat melting off the fork.
We then were serve a table full of unique pan-asian appetizers:
Lobster tacos- petite tacos with chunks of lobster meat in a slightly spice sauce
Grilled Baby Spare Ribs- Honey coated baby pork ribs, delicious with meat falling off the bones.
We were next served a complete Seafood feast served in a spectacular large shell shaped colored glass serving dish, filled with ice and shell fish:
Kumamoto Oysters- The crown jewel of asian oysters, and a taste delight.
Live Orange Clam- Thick linguine appearing strips of orange clams.
Fatty Tuna- a thick and delicious rectangular slice of raw tuna
Sea Urchin- unusual, and different in appearance and taste
Ikura- salmon eggs in a sushi wrap
Salmon and Tuna Sushi- two of my favorite sushi dishes.
For our main entrees we were served a generous portion of Peking Duck- Warm, tender and delicious, with crispy skin, Hoisin sauce, and small biscuits. Sensational!
Creamy Seafood- Scallops, shrimp, lobster chunk, asparagus, in a fabulous cream sauce
A bowl of brown malaysian fried rice with shrimp.
Each of Moca’s dishes was beautifully plated and served.
For dessert we enjoyed a delicious serving of a moist chocolate layered cream cake with tea.
Moca is exceptionally beautiful, with a wondrous array of pan-asian food choices including chinese, japanese, and thai food.
Call for reservations as this restaurant is busy all week long and especially on weekends.
Congratulations to Evan, Henry Lin. Ivan, and Kevin for an outstanding evening of asian delights at Moca..
