The story of a toddler who was left in his dad’s hot truck all day and ended up passing away, just keeps unfolding with more and more info. Reports came out the other day that the child’s father, Justin Ross Harris, researched animals dying in cars and kids dying in hot cars. On June 29, 2014, a report from WTOC states that Leanna Harris, the child’s mother, also researched child deaths in hot cars.
Yes, the mother of the 22-month-old boy who died after being left in a hot SUV, admitted to police that she had also researched children dying in hot cars.
“Leanna Harris, the child’s mother, was also questioned regarding the incident and made similar statements regarding researching in car deaths and how it occurs,” search warrant affidavits obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution state.
Justin Ross Harris states that he researched children dying in hot cars because he was paranoid and wanted to make sure it didn’t happen. He has since been charged with murder and cruelty to children. Leanna Harris has not been charged or identified as a suspect in the death of their son, Cooper.
So far, investigators have not released the timing of the online searches.
Leanna Harris was questioned in the hours after Cooper’s death and also admitted that she made the online searches because she was “fearful” it could happen to their child.
A large number of electronics and computers have been seized from the Harris’ home and SUV.
The investigation is still ongoing and Justin Ross Harris is being held in jail and may not be released until a possible trial occurs.
