One of the joys of this time of year is eating fresh food from the great Minnesota fall harvest. Many of use associate corn on the cob with the end of a great Minnesota summer and the taste is always nostalgic for summers gone by. However, if you’re not careful, you might not realize that the corn you’re eating is not from local farmers, but instead a genetically modified food product chocked full of insecticides and made by the not so friendly Monsanto factory farmers.
One would think that a product like this would be clearly labeled as genetically modified, or in a sensible world would not even exist in the first place, but sadly, factory food-like products such as this are wedged in between other produce and masquerading as the real thing.
Factory farmers have replaced most family farmers, simply because chemicals allow these factories to pump out larger supplies at cheaper prices. At the same time, traditional family farmers who try to grow natural foods are over-regulated. For more about this, see the following links-
Monsanto’s own brand of food-like fake corn is genetically modified and engineered to be pesticide resistant. This means each generation needs more and more pesticides to work, so these factory farmers spray each crop at an even higher rate. Monsanto pesticides and chemicals have been found to be extremely harmful to all living life forms, and it has recently been found that the major chemicals in Monsanto’s “RoundUp” are the major reasons why the bee population is dying off. For more on this story, see the following link-
These chemicals are supposed to be regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA,) but they are not. Not only are these chemicals being used in factory farms, they are also sold to consumers in the form of the most popular weed-controller, “RoundUp.” It has recently been found that the chemicals in RoundUp are so prevalent in American society that samples of them are showing up in our rain, our air, and even in mother’s breast milk.
Monsanto and its genetically modified monsters have been outlawed in 19 countries. So why not in America? One look at the list of current politicians who rose to power while working for Monsanto gives an indication why it is so hard for the EPA to truly regulate these harmful chemicals and fake-foods.
