Landing in Milwaukee, Louis C.K. aims his sarcastic wit and humor on sex, parenting, and more in this uncensored special.
Louis starts well enough with some good laughs. Things lag a little as he transitions to more focus on his life and family but he brings it back around later in the show with some nice laughs. The family focus is a bit tedious, particularly for those who don’t have kids and may not relate to some of the comedy. It can also feel at times that he is walking the thin line between simply complaining and trying to find the humor in things.
Louis seems to have a rough start in this one but once he relaxes his delivery improves greatly and he incorporates more body language and facial expressions.
Camera work is good with nice focus on Louis who moves around a fair amount. Stage and setting are good with few distractions. Sound is well done.
Louis C.K.: Hilarious is a decent 83 minutes of humor on a reasonable variety of topics. Maybe not his best set, this one should still get a few laughs. Those who enjoy longer delivery of comedy, or vulgarity, will likely enjoy this one the most.
With plenty of foul language save this one for older teens and above.
