You have probably seen her on “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” as Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak. She is also Special Agent Abigail Borin on “NCIS” as a Coast Guard Investigative agent. However, she plays an even tougher actress as a warden on Lifetime’s “A Warden’s Ransom” that aired on Saturday, Oct. 11. If you missed it, don’t despair. It returns several more times this month. Check the times at the end of this article.
It seems as though Diane Neal 37, an Alexandria, Virginia native is quite comfortable with her roles in law enforcement. However, her role as Samantha Brandt is her toughest role yet. Her job is being the warden of a men’s maximum security prison that she handles quite well until new inmate Vic Miller is transferred there. When the notorious rich serial killer comes to Roundwood Prison, he offers fifty million dollars to anyone who can break him out. Needless to say, greed causes everyone to try to get a piece of the money. Samantha’s trusted guards turn against her to help the serial killer escape. However, the warden’s job becomes personal when her daughter is taken as a hostage. The ending is quite surprising, so there will be no spoiler here.
Lifetime’s “A Warden’s Ransom” is a must see if you like the performance of Diane Neal who is not a typical warden, or if you like law enforcement movies. You will not be disappointment in the superb job Neal does as she takes on the whole prison almost single-handedly except with the help of a couple of guards she could trust.
As promised, here are the dates and times the movie will air again on Lifetime: Friday, Oct. 17 at 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 a.m., Monday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 12 midnight.
