After an abysmal week of picks in week two my week three picks resulted in a 10-6 record, bringing my season total to 27-21 or a win percentage a hair above 56% for the season. I don’t feel so bad about my picks considering I am at least as good as six of ESPN’s 13 “experts” so far this year and only a game or two behind the most of the rest.
This week we begin the bye’s which has Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, St. Louis, Arizona and Seattle all getting the week off, giving us just 13 games.
Here are my NFL week four predictions:
NY Giants at Washington- Washington
Cousins looks to be the real deal and each Thursday game this season has not only resulted in a win for the home team but a BIG win for the home team.
Green Bay at Chicago- Chicago
Packers have had trouble scoring so far this year, granted they are facing some of the best defenses. Chicago has a pretty soft defense but I think the Bears can still outscore the Pack this time around.
Buffalo at Houston- Houston
Both teams came back to earth last week and both are quite similar on offense. Last week Houston gave up some big numbers on the ground I am going to assume that was a fluke.
Tennessee at Indianapolis- Indianapolis
Andrew Luck is slinging the ball all over the field this year, I don’t think the Titans will be able to keep pace.
Carolina at Baltimore- Baltimore
Ravens are running the ball well despite missing Rice, Panthers are giving up more yards on the ground than I would have expected. I will take the Ravens.
Detroit at NY Jets- Detroit
Detroit has a pretty stout defense this year and I don’t think the Jets have anyone to cover Calvin Johnson. This one could get ugly if Smith throws careless interceptions again this week.
Tampa Bay at Pittsburgh- Pittsburgh
We saw what happened when the Bucs finally faced a starting QB. Yes they were without Gerald McCoy who should be back, but without help he won’t be able to stop big Ben who took apart the Panthers last week.
Miami at Oakland- Miami
Miami has question marks at quarterback but they have a solid running game and a defensive line that has gathered nine sacks in three games so far. The problem is they have fallen behind in every game this year. I don’t see the Raiders jumping out to a big lead on Miami which will play right into their strength.
Jacksonville at San Diego- San Diego
Can the Jags stop anyone? Maybe, but I don’t think they are stopping Rivers this week.
Atlanta at Minnesota- Atlanta
The Vikings without AP just look bad, the Falcons can put up points, Ryan could have another great day.
Philadelphia at San Francisco- Philadelphia
This should be another high scoring affair and I believe that the Eagles are better suited to win a shootout.
New Orleans at Dallas- New Orleans
I wanted to pick Dallas here but for some reason I am going the other way and taking the Saints to win.
New England at Kansas City- Kansas City
This one is hard for me, I don’t think KC is that great but after starting Tom Brady on Fantasy football last week I am realizing that through three games he is NOT having a great season against teams that are questionable. (Vikings, Dolphins, Raiders) I think the Chiefs get pressure on Brady and on the other side they should be able to run the ball.
Those are my picks for week four. If you want to comment please do or if you want to join my Facebook group of Smack Talkers you are more than welcome to do that as well.
