Last week Niche Media and Gotham magazine along with Peter Max and President of The Humane Society of the United States, Wayne Pacelle, celebrated a unique collaboration between the publishing house and the artist at Loews Regency Hotel on Wed. June 25. NYC tastemakers enjoyed a first look at ten original artworks created by Peter Max to serve as cover art for Niche Media’s ten summer regional titles including local favorites such as Gotham magazine, Hamptons magazine and Boston Common.
Fans of Peter Max and the magazines have a golden opportunity to bid on the original artwork on Charity Buzz until August 6. The net proceeds will benefit The Humane Society of the United States. Additionally, 25 limited-edition posters of each magazine cover will be available with a $250 donation to The HSUS. Art enthusiasts can choose their favorite posters by making a donation at the Humane Society website. The coveted summer edition of Gotham magazine hit newsstands on June 27.
With giving in mind, Hamptons magazine launched its “Summer of Giving” campaign to give back to the local community through several summer-long philanthropic partnerships. The first initiative of the season is custom-designed surfboards to benefit local charities created by renowned artists such as Peter Max, Charles Wildbank, Michael Dweck, Paton Miller, Thomas Dash, Jeff Muhs, Peter Dayton, Jerome Lucani and Peter Tunney. Surfers with a passion for art can bid on these boards through Charity Buzz now until August.
Coffee lovers can also participate in these East End charitable efforts. Hamptons magazine publisher Debra Halpert and editor-in-chief Samantha Yanks created Hamptons Magazine Blend coffee with the Hampton Coffee Company. A 10-ounce bag can be purchased for $20 at Hampton Coffee of Southhampton, Hampton Coffee of Watermill, Hampton Coffee of Westhampton and online as well as at Hamptons magazine and East End hospice events throughout the summer.
According to Hamptons magazine publisher, Debra Halpert, “For years we have been privileged to partner and support so many important charities that impact and benefit the Hamptons and we are thrilled to be able to take that one step further with this fully integrated campaign.” From artistic magazine covers to stellar surfboards to delicious coffee, there is something for everyone.
