Mayor Chris Duncan, Chief of Police Lewis Coats and Fire Chief Danny Dupre would
like to remind the citizens of Sulphur that Ordinance No. 1127, M-C Series was adopted
by the Sulphur City Council on June 10, 2013. The ordinance prohibits fireworks in the
City of Sulphur as follows:
Section 8-10. Fireworks Prohibited
It shall be unlawful for any person to explode a firecracker or fireworks of
any kind within the city; provided, however, this subsection shall not apply to
pyrotechnic displays, referred to in the fire prevention code herein adopted.

Section 8-11. Confiscation Authorized.
The Chief of Police or his officers are hereby authorized to seize and
confiscate all pyrotechnics sold, exchanged or possessed in violation of the terms
and provisions of this section.
Section 8-12. Penalty.

will be issued, for any violation of this ordinance. However, if an officer is required to
return because of continued complaints, a ticket will be issued and fireworks are subject
to be seized and confiscated.”
