Kanye West headlined Budweiser’s Made In America Festival on Sunday Aug. 31, 2014 and of course yeahstub.com was on the scene. Beyonce and husband Jay Z were in attendance. They walked to their seats just minutes before Yeezus took the stage. But before the festival headliner, John Mayer gifted the stage with new tattoos and classic hits such as “Your Body is a Wonderland,” “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room” and “Who Says.” Energized festival goers climbed on top of a light post, bus stop and any other elevated platform they could get their hands on.
This seemed to motivate Mayer to passionately play the guitar on his knees and on the floor. When he got up he eluded to the fact that the rowdy audience members brought out the competitive said of him. Stating that he wasn’t going to let them “steal the spotlight away.”John Mayer need not worry about the spotlight being taken away from his 10 plus year career as a rockstar. As Mayer exited the stage the lights dimmed and the stage crew prepped for the man of the hour, Kanye West. At exactly 10 p.m., Ye hit the stage coming out to “Black Skinhead” and his now famous diamond studded mask. He followed that up with “Don’t Like” a collaborative song featured on the 2011 compilation album “Cruel Summer.” Kanye performed “Stronger” “Good Life” “All of the Lights” “All Falls Down” and many other chart topping hits under his arsenal.
Just being amongst the energy in the crowd gave me goosebumps. It’s amazing how Kanye West is able to move and control a performance, from the visuals to the lights to even how fans in the audience dance. During “Blood on the Leaves” Kanye told the audience to “make a circle and put your camera phone up.” It was time to rage! As soon as the bass pounding beat dropped, my teenage youth took over me as I jumped into the mosh pit for an exhilarating ten second rush. When it was over I wished I could to do it again. Not surprisingly, Kanye knew the effect he would have with “Blood on the Leaves” in a festival setting. Kanye closed out his performance with the song as more mosh pits and life time memories were formed.
American Eagle Outfitters was the official fashion partner for the Budweiser Made In America music festival in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. In Los Angeles, “Sin City 2” starlet Jamie Chung and her fiancé Bryan Greenberg, clad in American Eagle, were seen taking selfies, with their AEO branded selfie sticks, while riding from stage-to-stage in an American Eagle golf cart. Pretty Little Liars star Chloe Bridges was spotted showing off her #AEOStyle in Philadelphia.
