In the season opener, we get the start of the Frozen-themed show as Elsa comes to Storybrooke in search of her sister Anna, who seems to be looking for the answers that cost their parents their life.
In this week’s episode, titled ‘White Out’, Elsa begins her search to find Anna in the enchanted forest and will stop at nothing to try and find her.
Elsa does something a bit drastic as she puts up ice barriers preventing anyone from leaving Storybrooke.
Henry gets a message that Regina doesn’t want to see him which is hard for Henry to deal with as she always would want him in her life no matter what.
Hook/David/Emma investigate the loss of power in the town as the rest of the town look to Mary Margaret for her to give them the power and figure out a solution.
Emma runs into Elsa and she offers her help to find Anna. Hook/David see Emma talking to Elsa and instead of helping they make things worse and get Emma trapped in an icy cave with Elsa. Typical man to try and use physical ways of solving something that can be solved by talking. Now Elsa has threatened to freeze the town over if Anna is not brought to her starting with Emma.
Mary Margaret struggles to make the town happy and generally breaks down in front of the whole town. This of course could be because of her lack of sleep because of the baby.
Emma figures out that Elsa can’t control her powers (obviously she’s never seen the movie) and that Elsa needs Anna to help take down the wall. Elsa starts to feel bad as Emma is starting to slowly freeze to death. When Charming sees the necklace he knows that Anna is ‘Joan’.
David/Hook are able to get Bo Peep’s staff and know that it will lead them to Anna. He is able to help Elsa find that love inside herself and make a hole so that Emma can get out.
In the fairy tale world, Anna meets up with an old face in Prince Charming (before he was charming). Anna quickly proves that she is not at all that good at being on a ‘secret mission’. And who comes riding up is Miss Bo Peep but she is not at all that sweet lady with the sheep that we know from the fairy tale book.
Bo Peep wants her money from Charming and his mother and Anna just might be caught in the cross fires. She wants Charming to fight back and she said that she would help. It looks like Charming learned all his combative skills from Anna. Who would have thunk it?
Turns out that Charming’s father left because of his drinking and never got the chance to return. He ended up drinking himself to death. Appears that he does know what loss is.
When Charming goes to talk to Anna about fighting back, he finds Bo Peep instead of Anna. Charming takes Anna’s advice and wins against Bo Peep. Anna does just have that power to make people believe in themselves even if they don’t want to.
Before leavings, Anna asks Charming’s mother about some powerful wizard that might be able to help Anna on her ‘special mission’. Who else would think it would be? None other then Rumplestilskin .What does he want with Anna? Perhaps some kind of control of Elsa?
It looks like Elsa isn’t the only one with the ‘frozen’ powers.
In the next episode, a new ice queen reveals herself as Elsa might be the only perosn that can help Storybrook from being frozen over.
