“Once Upon a Time” viewers, rejoice! Elsa is finally ditching her sparkly blue beauty pageant dress for a new look. However, her makeover isn’t exactly modern.
In an Oct. 30 teaser shared by The Hollywood Reporter, the “Frozen” queen can be seen wearing a very conservative, folksy dress. It resembles the look that Elsa wears in “Frozen” before she gives herself an icy makeover. Elsa’s movie gowns might be iconic, but actress Georgina Haig thinks that the Disney character should seriously consider updating her look while she’s stuck in Storybrooke.
“I would like Emma to give Elsa a bit of a makeover, because I think Elsa would love a pair of jeans in Storybrooke, because her dress catches on a lot of trees and gets very muddy,” Haig told Extra. “Emma would get out a pair of scissors, she would have been, like, jeans, t-shirts, go. It would be cool to have a makeover montage, where she practical-izes Elsa.” According to Haig, Elsa’s new look would be “very bohemian chic.” Unfortunately, she’s currently stuck running through the forest in a prom dress and high heels.
The video above shows Anna and Elsa’s happy reunion after Anna returns from her quest to find out what her parents were searching for when they died. Obviously Anna doesn’t want to tell Elsa what she learned from Mr. Gold—Elsa would be devastated to find out that her parents perished trying to find a way to get rid of her powers.
The “Once Upon a Time” flashback takes a surprising turn when Elsa tells Anna that Elizabeth Mitchell’s Snow Queen character has been helping her learn to harness her powers. It’s been revealed that the Snow Queen will eventually erase Elsa’s memory, and somehow the Queen of Arendelle ends up being imprisoned in a magical urn. It’s very likely that the Snow Queen had something to do with Elsa’s imprisonment, hence the memory wipe.
According to Broadway World, flashbacks are going to be a big part of this week’s episode of “Once Upon a Time.” In “Family Business,” viewers will learn that Belle once encountered Anna. The “Frozen” princess helped Rumple’s future bride find Grand Pabbie, and – surprise, surprise – Belle was searching for the rock troll because her memory had been erased. She just wanted to know what happened to her mother (Frances O’Connor).
In modern-day Storybrooke, Belle will try to use the Dark One’s dagger to get a reluctant Rumple to reveal the location of the Snow Queen. However, she’s not aware that she doesn’t possess the real dagger. It was revealed that the Snow Queen and Rumple have a history, and he has some reason for trying to protect the sorceress. Perhaps he needs her to accomplish whatever he’s trying to do with the powerful sorcerer’s hat from “Fantasia.”
What do you think the Snow Queen is planning to do with Elsa on “Once Upon a Time?”
