Did you get a chance to go to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con? There were so many events to attend that even if you were here, chances were really good that you could not attend all of them, even with a 4 day pass.
From events outside and surrounding areas to panels, this year’s Comic-Con was huge. One of the events included that was outside was Nerd HQ that had tons of celebrities stop by to talk and if you had the app downloaded, they definitely kept a person up to date with who was stopping by from Nathan Fillion to Wil Wheaton to Felicia Day. This event was held daily and was available to those without a badge, making this a fun event to go to.
Nerd HQ was not the only event to attend without a badge. Petco Park (in one of their parking lots) had a fun interactive fun zone that held up very well from the Adult Swim Meatwad experience to the Adult Swim Funhouse, that was truly insane an experience to be had. Amazon.com was there as well giving out tons of prizes daily, including an Amazon Fire TV, cool pixel sunglasses, and much more. And free Pizza Hut pizza. This was a great fun event that allowed tons of people to enjoy.
For those with badges, well you had so many options; some would probably even say too many options. There were tons of panels, and if that was your thing, you really had to eliminate a few to go to the one you really wanted to attend. The panels are a way for a fan to see new clips of a favorite TV show, or new TV show/movie, to possibly ask questions of the actors/writers of said show/movie and to possible get that one of a kind swag that is only available to those who attend. For those who love the TV series True Blood, this was their last panel, so the line was very long to get into the room. It was a bittersweet send off to a show that veered off from the books from the beginning.
Panels not your thing? Then there are always autographs. These can be from limited signings to paid signings from comic book writers to book writers all the way to actors. This is another fun way to interact with your favorite even if it is only less than a minute communication.
Let’s not forget about the awesome cos-players who truly put on their own shows. Check out the pics of some great cos-players showing off their awesome skills.
This year’s convention was not without incident. During the Zombie Walk that is has been held for the last 8 years during Comic-Con, a car ran over some the people standing. It was mass chaos and you can read it about more here.
If you are a fan of horror, there is a video of a group of Jason’s doing some weird version of the Electric Slide. It is quite hilarious and the dancing starts about 1:30 in, but the beginning is the scene set up. Check out the clip to your left.
Overall it was a fun con to be had, even though it seems even bigger than last year. Check out the pictures to see what you may have missed.
