There’s nothing like celebrating Halloween in gay Palm Springs and the Saguaro is proving the point with a Wicked Halloween Bash costume contest with a $1500 grand prize and the desert’s only Halloween weekend Tea Dance on Saturday afternoon.
The fun begins on Thursday October 30, 2014 with a Pumpkin carving contest at 5 p.m. where participants are asked to decorate the Saguaro’s lobby with their personal jack-o’-lanterns. It’s a pumpkin carving contest for everyone: friends, neighbors and guests. Bring your entry to the hotel by 5 p.m. Winners will be announced at the Wicked Halloween Bash on Friday night.
The free for all Wicked Halloween Bash runs Friday, October 31, from 4-6 p.m. at the pool and is open to everyone. There will be crafting, face-painting, a costume parade and a Halloween-themed movie playing. Then from 10 p.m. the costume contest starts. For a really good chance to win put on your sexiest, most ghoulish or silliest getup. The $1,500 grand prize is nothing to sneeze but worth tricking yourself out for.
Then onSaturday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.. there’s a Halloween Tea Dance featuring a special guest DJ and chance to show off your costume one more time poolside. There’s $20 cover charge of $20 for this one that includes one cocktail for those 21 and over.
