Thursday, October, 23, 2014: Happy birthday Scorpio and Happy Scorpio New Moon Solar Eclipse to all! A new seriousness is entering the world. To repeat from yesterday: “Shades of gray will give way to black and white… Superficial niceness to deep commitment… the restless, easy-going spirit of adventure to a more subdued and controlled style of approaching life.” The time of indecision is giving way to getting “REAL” with yourself… and passionate love is at the heart of the matter.
Webster’s Dictionary defines passion as “extreme, compelling emotion or intense emotional drive”. Like a runner crossing the finish line in agony, yet with great ecstasy in overcoming obstacles and being victorious. That runner’s passion originated in love of the sport and his passion became manifest in actions stemming from that love… the love inspired a passion to suffer the slings and arrows of defeat in his pursuit of victory.
The word passion is often taken to mean pleasure, excitement, love, heart- filled, enjoyment, desire and more. While passion might end in any or all of these feelings, these feelings are not passion.
Passion is derived from the Latin word “pasio” which literally means “to suffer”. Suffering is inherent in the word passion. Sure you might find enjoyment in… take pleasure in…. or be excited about “something”, but are you really passionate about it? Are you willing to suffer for that “something”?
The question you should be asking yourself today is… “What do I love enough to willingly embrace both agony and ecstasy in the pursuit of?” Forget about joy, pleasure and financial reward… let the fire of your passion drive you.
To be veraciously passionate, requires the sober understanding of the suffering to be embraced. And give chase to the adventure of a meaningful life. Be prepared. Be willing. Be encouraged! The flames of passion – when fueled – are not easily extinguished. ~ Neil Brown, Understanding Passion
Please note: George Washington Carver said: “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.” The sky speaks to you if you’ll listen. Everyday it delivers a message that each person hears in a uniquely different way…. some will feel challenged to find personal meaning in the message, while others will resonate easily with it.
