The holiday gift-giving season is not that far away and one may be looking at some ideas for their significant others. There are a couple of ideas here that are not necessarily new to the list (or industry), but worth re-visiting. For some, these items may need a replacement or upgrade.
For Her: Caruso Curlers
If she is tired of the same hair style or missing the curls of the permanent that she had twenty years ago, then maybe the Caruso steam curlers are an option. These curlers are similar to those old-fashioned sponge curlers, but with the efficiency of the use of steam instead of the uncomfortable act of sleeping on curlers overnight.
With a little added hair product, the resulting curl can be kept all evening (or all day). Also, the Caruso curler system is able to travel quite well in a suitcase for those holiday outings and time with extended family. It may be a bit odd-shaped, but actually can be quite compact.
As far as effect on the hair, the steam is less visibly damaging to the hair than the traditional curling iron and certainly easier on those tresses than a chemical permanent.
Caruso curlers probably do not get the attention they deserve, compared to how much people actually love them (based on reviews throughout the internet). Fortunately, according to eHow, there are many places to find these exceptional hair tools.
For Him: Beard Trimmer
If the significant other is a man with a beard, then maybe it is time to purchase a new beard trimmer, to help him keep his beard in the style of his choice, whether it is a GQ style or a rough and tough style. In order to find the most suitable beard trimmer, the shopper will want to do some research and understand the gentleman’s needs, as well as features that each trimmer offers, as well as what to look for in the trimmer. A complete guide is always helpful, to find that best beard trimmer that fits the needs (and wants) perfectly.
If this is a first purchase for a first time beard, one recommendation that has been suggested is to keep the cost down. This isn’t to be cheap (certainly not, with a loved one!), but for the opportunity to test the device to see if it works well. Also, this is the best way to determine the quality of the device. Granted, the saying that one gets what they pay for still plays out and if paying less money, one should not expect the tool to last a hundred years, but it is a consideration, to try out the different brands at their lower end, cost-wise.
For Him and Her: Keurig Coffee Maker
Now that everyone has primped and prettied themselves up, it is time for a cup of cappuccino, tea, coffee, or whatever suits their fancy.
Here comes Keurig brewing systems to the rescue. These nifty little appliances make it easy for anyone to make the perfect cup of anything, with the help of the K-cups. If the drink has been imagined, and it is something that can be brewed hot, it is likely to be available in a K-cup that will work in a Keurig machine.
From surveying devoted Keurig customers, it is not uncommon for these brewing machines to only last about one year. At first that sounds like a steep price for something that needs replacing every year, but for those who are devoted to their love of Keurig (or their love for those who love Keurig), they accept that this is the cost of enjoying the hot cup of java, and budget for it annually. What better time than scheduling it for holiday time, making it an annual tradition and treat for the couple? This can be something that the couple buys together, for each other.
Keurig is not only popular with the coffee drinkers and specialty drink lovers, but it also did well for the investors, according to this article in Forbes about the boost in availability of the Keurig product(s). It would appear, based on this success, and the appearance of this appliance in places like high-end five-star Hilton hotels, that this appliance is here to stay and ready for the annual replacement and upgrade.
Spreading the Love Beyond The Loved Ones
Now that there has been gift giving and love shared with him, her, and couple, there are opportunities to show the appreciation beyond just the couple. This is especially true if topping off the shopping evening or gift-giving evening with a night on the town.
On this event, one doesn’t want to forget the service provided by hotel staff, waiters/waitresses (servers), and other courteous people in the service industries.
Emily Post reminds everyone that it is not just about the service received, but compares the act of tipping as an opportunity to give a “thank you” to the service provider. So, if topping off the holiday gift giving or gift shopping with that night out on the town, there may be room to give a little more, when thinking about those who have given of their time and energy to make everyone else’s day a little brighter.
