Lucy Hale, the star of ABC Family’s show Pretty Little Liars is pretty freaking amazing. She gives a candid interview in the September 2014 issue of Cosmopolitan. She has her own country album out called Road Between and wants the world to know how passionate she is about her music and music in general. A lot of people weren’t supportive in the beginning and didn’t want to have anything to do with her project. It was scary for her but nobody was going to stop her. Lucy describes how music makes her vulnerable.
“My heart is on my sleeve when I’m singing my songs – there have been moments I’ve cried onstage because it just felt right. Making this album will, hands down, be the scariest thing I will ever do in my life,” shares Lucy.
Pretty Little Liars was renewed for two more seasons and Lucy is happy to still have a job for another two years. She also ventured out and auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey.
“That audition was so uncomfortable! It’s exactly what you thought it would be: a big monologue but very, very sexual. My mom and grandma would be horrified! There were some things that I was so embarrassed to be reading out loud, but it’s one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly or you’re going to make a fool of yourself. I didn’t get it, obviously, but I’m so glad I did that because it took me out of my comfort zone,” she says.
Social media freaks Lucy out because she hates cyberbullying. She had one 13 year old fan bullying her all the time. She has always been understanding of bullies because they are the most hurt and insecure of everyone. She wrote a song about it called “Nervous Girls.” She wants to stop the cycle of bullying and girls feeling that they are not good enough.
“Women blame guys for not respecting us, but there aren’t enough women in support of other women. I’ve never had a problem saying, “Wow, she’s a beautiful woman” or “What a great album she made!” I’ve always rooted for other girls,” Lucy shares with Cosmopolitan.
Lucy Hale is a totally unique chic chick who wants to share her music and passion with the world. She supports other women and encourages girls and women a like to be themselves and praise one another. Lucy is NO Mean Girl. She is changing the world one pretty little liar at a time. Lucy may be pretty and little but she is no liar. She speaks the truth. She is true to herself and true to her fans and pretty freaking A – (Awesome.)
