This is part of a letter sent out to New York residents from the New York State Democratic Committee:
Who you vote for is your secret. But whether or not you vote is public record
We will be reviewing voting records . . . to determine whether you joined your neighbors who voted in 2014…If you do not vote this year, we will be interested to hear why not.
It was sent out to 1 million citizens whom the Democratic party had found did not vote in last election and needless to say it did not go over too well. Former governor David Paterson was responsible for the scare tactic and defended it with the usual canard that Republicans are undemocratic oppressors: “The difference between Democrats and Republicans is they don’t want people to vote and we want everyone to vote.”
Right. They also favor the rich over the poor and hate minorities etc. etc. etc. etc.
Louisiana Senator Mary Laundieu is running for reelection and it isn’t going all too well for her. In an interview with NBC she has a take on why its been tough for her and Obama:
I’m going to be very, very honest with you. The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans…It’s been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader.
It’s not always been a good place for women to be able to present ourselves…It’s more of a conservative place, so we’ve had to work a little bit harder on that. But, you know, the people trust me, I believe. Really, they do. They trust me to do the right thing for the state.
You know how those racist southerners are, why, they’re not too kind to women either, so that’s why it’s been so very tough. But please don’t remember Louisiana voted Democrat before, even Democrat who were black and female.
Oh Hilllary. Now I’m starting to feel bad for her. I know this isn’t part of the desperation or deplorable tactics above but it still doesn’t help matters for the party since she is every bit a top leader of the bunch. She once again attempted to clear up her business-don’t-create-jobs speech by saying this time:
Trickle down economics has failed. I short-handed this point the other day, so let me be absolutely clear about what I’ve been saying for a couple of decades…Our economy grows when businesses and entrepreneurs create good-paying jobs here in America
Flip-flop is now shorthand for speaking shorthanded. The amazing thing about this (and I hope science is studying the reasons for it) is how liberals will defend it all.
Back to the despicable. Tax cheat congressman Charlie Rangel said this at a rally for Governor Andrew Cuomo:
We have to win. We have to be able to send a national message with Andrew Cuomo. And the thing is: Everything we believe in — everything we believe in — they hate. They don’t disagree — they hate! They think if you didn’t come from Europe 30 years ago, you didn’t even make it. Some of them believe that slavery isn’t over and they and think they won the Civil War!
Don’t you just hate those Republicans who are haters? And then to further the liberal crusade for goodness and holiness (yes, in spite of church and state, holiness) he said:
Everything we’re doing is God’s work: education, healthcare, affordable housing, [protecting against] discrimination, paying people the minimum wage
After he said this there was a revolt from liberals and atheist who were offended and believe in separation of church and state and rejected Rangels claim and contacted the ACLU….not! Never happened.
You have to wonder why the Democrats don’t just run on their policy beliefs. But if you do then you would have to conclude that this would be a losing strategy, like they apparently did, therefore its time to dust off the race card and perhaps issue a vote or else letter.
