The clouds over the Giudice family continue as they grieve the sudden loss of Joe Giudice’s father at the New Jersey home of Joe and Teresa Giudice on June 18. In addition to this tragedy, the Giudice’s are also facing sentencing after pleading guilty to over 40 different counts of mortgage fraud. It was recently reported that in light of the family tragedy, a New Jersey judge has granted a stay on the sentencing for Joe and Teresa Giudice, and has rescheduled sentencing from July 8 to September 23. In the meantime, Joe and Teresa Giudice are continuing on with their lives as normally as possible, and reportedly that also means getting back to work. People Magazine reports on July 11 that Joe and Teresa Giudice will be returning to the next season of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” because “this is my job and I want to keep going.”
People Magazine is confirming today that as far as cast members go for the next season of “Real Housewives of New Jersey”, Teresa Giudice is still holding the same employment position she’s held for the last five years. She discussed her job, and the loss of their “Nonno Franko” recently with People,
“Now I’m in it and I don’t want to stop. This is my job and I want to keep going. We are mourning and it’s just been devastating. I feel bad for my husband and I’m just trying to be there for him and my kids. He was so close to us, and it happened at our house, so it’s just a lot to handle.”
Viewers can expect to see more details come to light about the legal battles of Joe and Teresa Giudice. To People Magazine reporters, Teresa Giudice put on a brave face and told People she’s staying strong, and focusing on her family. She also discussed how she deals with what must be both traumatizing and terrifying at the same time,
“Waking up every morning looking at my [four] beautiful daughters, I am always grateful. That’s what keeps me going and give me my strength. I have a wonderful husband and that’s why I am the rock that I am.”
Most fans would agree that is their perception of the show, as the relationship between Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice might just be one of the strongest marriages in the “Real Housewives” marriages. They have literally been through the best and the worst life has to offer together.
But isn’t Teresa a little bit scared at the thought of leaving her husband and all of this life? According to Fashion & Style on July 10, yes. Fashion & Style is reporting that Teresa is just as human as the rest of us would in this exact same circumstance. The 42-year-old “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star and mom of 4 was recently quoted saying,
“No one can ever prepare themselves to go to prison. How could I ever prepare myself to be away from my kids? It’s too terrifying for me to even think about. I’ve had many sleepless nights worrying about being separated from my family. My family is everything.”
Sentencing for Joe and Teresa Giudice has been rescheduled to September 23.
CNN has also reported this week that the Giudice family is not the only family in the “Real Housewives” franchise that is undergoing sentencing and the thought of being taken away from their families. CNN reported this week that on July 9,35-year-old Apollo Nida was sentenced to an 8-year prison term for fraud charges as well.
Apollo Nida is the husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star attorney Phaedra Parks. Nida was charged in January of this year to multiple fraud counts in what has been referred to as a “fraud scheme” that involved embezzlement in the “millions of dollars” range according to CNN. Charges against Nida allege that his crimes totaled over 50 people in a 4 year period.
CNN is also reporting that this is not the first time Apollon Nida has been charged, and served time for similar charges. Nida has been ordered to pay restitution to his victims. He faces a hearing on July 17 to determine the amounts. After serving 8 years in a federal prison, Nida will serve 5 years probation.
According to arrest warrants, Apollo Nida launched two collection companies as a means of gathering information to commit identity theft. The complaint against him states that fraudulent car loans in the names of his victims were then obtained with the information he obtained.
Apollo Nida’s charges and arrest followed a year-long the United States Secret Service investigation. His arrest came after a woman by the name of Gayla St. Julein turned on him. Prior to his arrest Gayla worked for Nida and reportedly performed a wide range of the “legwork” involved for Nida to conduct his schemed.
The break for the Secret Service came when she agreed to have her phone calls with Apollo Nida recorded, and ultimately used against him. Nida has previously served time for identify theft. In a sworn affidavit on the matter, United States Secret Service Special Agent Alexandre Herrera said that Nida,
“knowingly and willfully (did) execute and attempt to execute a scheme to defraud federallu insured financial institutions by depositing stolen and fraudulently obtained checks and fraudulently obtained auto loan proceeds into bank accounts opened in the stolen identities of real persons, and conspire with others to do so, and knowingly convert to his use and the use of others stolen and fraudulently obtained United States Treasury Checks.”
Nida was busted on a recorded phone call that discussed “details of future auto loan checks that he was expecting to receive any day now from in the mail”, according to the U.S. Secret Service affidavit. The 8-year sentence that Nida received is the maximum sentence in Georgia for this crime.
Phaedra Parks is returning to the next season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”, and will have one more thing in common with her fellow cast mates, life as a housewife without a husband.
Meanwhile, over in the Big Apple, audience of “Real Housewives of New York” want to know, is Aviva Drescher getting fired or not? There has been a lot of speculation after all of the drama surrounding the infamous Montana trip. Us Weekly caught the story on a recent Canadian airing of “Real Housewives of New York” when Canadian viewers saw Aviva Drescher begin the drama mill in an on again off again kind of way about a trip to Montana.
Finally, at the eleventh hour, Aviva wound up being diagnosed with asthma, preventing her from accepting Kristin’s invite to go horseback riding in Montana. Due to her “health conditions” as Aviva discussed with her husband, it would be “irresponsible” to attend such a trip, around horses, and fresh air. Aviva arrived at her shoe shopping appointment with the girls to discuss the matter with a slew of medication and even a doctor’s note to prove that she wasn’t really lying this time.
Kristen, feeling quite disappointed by the refusal of her invitation, called Aviva out and even questioned whether or not she really had asthma, or was this just another one of Aviva’s “attention seeking” drama parties. It was at this point that Aviva “opened up her bag of crazy” as Ramona Singer put it, and started throwing her medication bottles and doctor’s notes at Kristen, the hostess of the lovely ranch vacation in Montana.
That might be when Aviva Drescher lost what few fans she may have had left, it was not a pretty moment. Even her own cast mate has gotten tired of this party, and Kristen recently wrote to Aviva via her blog on Bravo TV,
“Really, so many damn excuses! Enough with the excuses and just own it and say ‘I can’t leave my husband,’ or ‘I am scared to fly’ or ‘I really just don’t want to go!’ Weird #crazy”
What do you think should happen at the sentencing of Joe and Teresa Giudice?
