According to ComicBook.com on Sunday, there was a recipe made available online on how to make dancing baby Groot cupcakes. The recipe was likely made famous by James Gun’s “Guardians of the Galaxy’s” dancing baby Groot scene where actor Dave Bautista is seen cleaning his weapon and the sapling Groot is seen dancing to the Jackson 5 song, “I Want You Back.”
For those who haven’t yet been privy nor seen how the dancing Groot shot was done, director Gunn was the one that provided the moves for the dancing baby Groot. Gunn apparently was too embarrassed to have anyone watch, so when everyone left the room, he set up his own camera and filmed himself dancing. Afterwards, he sent the video to the animation department and “begged”never to leak the video. However, a couple of rather close friends did recognize the dance moves of the finished product. It could have registered with his friends on a subconscious level.
“Two of my closest friends came to an early screening and said ‘Hey, I recognize those moves! That’s you dancing isn’t it?!’”
Also, at the 2014 Atlanta Dragon Con, there was a video of interest online where there had been a dancing baby Groot/Deadpool mash-up character and it seems this lovable character is trending. Even after actor Vin Diesel, the voice of Groot, countered Gunn’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by challenging others to plant a tree for Groot. Afterwards, Gunn did the same thing as well to further provide environmental awareness. Considering the Earth’s biosphere is rather problematic, it would behoove to the environment right.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” is currently in theaters and has now been deemed the number one movie for three weekends at the box office and also has surpassed “Captain America: The Winter Solder” as the number one domestic film in 2014.
