“Resurrection” comes back for season two and the dead are returning to their loved ones in droves. The series is based on the book “The Returned” and it is centered in the small town of Arcadia, Missouri, a typical any town USA.
Deceased love ones come back to family and friends, looking like they did the day they died. They have not aged and they do not know that they were dead. It seems like no time has gone by at all for the ones who are “Resurrected.”
One of the first to come back was a young boy named Jacob, who drowned in 1982, reminds ABC Local 13 News on Sept. 27. He comes back as a boy of eight, who was found after he woke up in the rice patties of rural China with no clue as to how he got there. It is still not known why he woke up in a place that has no meaning to him, but when Customs Agent Marty Bellamy escorts the boy home to Missouri he is shocked by what he finds.
Jacob died 32-years ago and he came back like he was never gone. The town looks at him as the result of some type of evil deed, until their loved ones start returning. Some have been dead a short time and others, like Jacob have been gone for decades. The new season opens with more returned sparking worry about what is happening. The people of Arcadia are starting to worry if these people are who they say they are, reports Entertainment Weekly today.
Something is not right with these resurrected folks and little hints of weird and odd behaviors are emerging. No one has figured why and how they came back. Jacob, the youngest of the returned, can feel the presence of others who have returned, but he appears to be the only one who can do that.
When the resurrected come back, they are just as they were the day they died. A woman who was pregnant when she committed suicide came back pregnant, a man who was involved in criminal activities came back doing the same thing and even Jacob has a scar on him that he had the day he died. It is like no time has passed for these resurrected folks.
As quick as he came, one returned man vanished into thin air while in a jail cell. At the end of season one a family was found at the playground and Jacob’s parents have befriended them. They returned together, which seems to be the first group of people to be resurrected at the same time.
Studying this phenomenon is Agent Bellamy, who stayed on in Arcadia to try and find a reason behind all of this. He is working closely with the town’s doctor, Maggie and the chemistry seems to indicate it’s a match for these two. This is a romance that would fill out this series nicely.
Besides hoping that Maggie and Bellamy hookup, it is going to be interesting to see what more of the resurrected bring to the show!
