In the 3rd season, the show returned to what made it so successful in the first season as Emily continues to try and take down Victoria. She was able to do that as she tears apart the Graysons and Conrad goes to jail and most importantly: David’s name is cleared.
Since Emily finished her revenge, where do we go from here?
From the previews it looks like this season may focus on Victoria trying to seek revenge on Emily for all that she did. As the season finale has shown us (Victoria killing Aiden and propping him up as a ‘gift’) we know that she is just as conniving and vindictive as Emily shown she can be. It’s going to be a battle of the wills and it will be fun to see how it comes out.
And let’s not forget the twist at the end of the show. David coming out and stabbing Conrad (presumably killing him). There are theories that have been discussed by the fans and mine was that David was in hiding (witness protection order or something like it) and came out because he heard that Amanda died and that Conrad is responsible. It would explain why he would come out and why he would want to kill Conrad after all this time.
It looks like it’s been six months since the season 3 finale and sadly we don’t get that. Victoria is in rehab and making friends there, one by the name of Phyllis who helps her break out of the mental hospital. Too bad for her it doesn’t work because obviously Emily is one step ahead of her.
It takes most of the show before Victoria can get out and of course she does it by betraying the trust of some of her ‘friends’ in the ward. That is probably not the best idea. Don’t want to make a crazy person angry. Never know what they are going to do.
And the surprises start. Emily throws the curveball and had bought Grayson manor. Nolan is curious to what Emily is going to do and she said nothing because the Graysons are all destroyed.
David is alive and well and he looks like he has revenge in his eyes as he’s returning back to the Hamptons to have a dish best served cold.
Daniel is spiraling down since he was blackmailed by Gideon in the finale. Jack finds himself with a badge as he is now a cop even after he was arrested for kidnapping. He has a new eye candy partner, Ben (Brian Hallisay, The Client List). Charlotte is still angry with Jack about what he did and looks to be wanting to make him feel guilty about it every single day.
Jack and Emily have a heart to heart where we learn that Jack became a cop because of the murder of Amanda and Declan, but he wanted to wait until Emily finished her revenge. Emily tells Jack that she stayed in Hamptons because of Charlotte. She wants to fix that relationship. Fat chance that will happen anytime soon.
Just because Victoria’s locked up doesn’t meant that there isn’t the Memorial Day party at the Hamptons. This one is thrown by Emily and of course it can’t be just swimmingly as can be expected. Jack catches Charlotte taking some cocaine and he gets Ben to back off but that was his free pass that he won’t get again.
Looks like Emily is not really over the revenge bug as she takes it on her own hand to try and right a wrong that has nothing to do with her. Nolan needs to step in and keep an eye on her.
Margaux finds out the truth about the night that Daniel quit the company and her and Daniel join together to try and help Charlotte and take down Gideon.
Victoria goes to see Emily and she promises that she is going to begin her revenge but on he way out, David takes her.
In other news, Emily is having a hard time adjusting to Aiden’s death, even 6 months later. She has Nolan and Jack convinced that she’s moved on but she keeps thinking about him and remembering the night she found him dead.
While the show was not nearly as exciting as I anticipated it to be or how the other three seasons started off, it looks like it may have the elements to make for an interesting season as Emily tries to reconnect with Charlotte and tell everyone she’s Amanda and David’s surprise to the world that he’s still alive.
In the next episode, David talks with Victoria about what happened and Emily ties to help Charlotte but ends up causing more pain.
