Whether you’re waiting until you’re toned and tanned or you’re just having a hard time finding the perfect fit, putting off purchasing your summer swimsuit until mid- to late-summer just may have you riding a wave of savings on the season’s hottest styles.
With retailers eager their racks of summer fashions, you can score discounts between 40 to 70-percent. About halfway through the summer, midseason swimsuit sales can save you up to 50-percent off. If you’re patient and willing to wait until the end of the summer, you can find deals as deep as 50 to 75-percent off regular prices, but even these discounts come at their own price.
“With the latter…be aware that the selection is going to be much more limited,” points out Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst for The NPD Group, Inc., in an interview with ABC News. “Clothing not in your size is no real bargain no matter how low the price.”’
Cohen adds that generally the best times of the year for deep discounts fall between July and August as stores prepare to make room for fall inventory and January and February with post-holiday clearances.
Mandy Walker with ShopSmart Magazine agrees, adding that while many retailers begin selling swimwear in March, prices begin to drop “as early as May and continue through August.”
From the beach to the lake to the resort pool, suit up in these beachwear bargains from Target and Victoria’s Secret priced at some of the lowest of the year.
Target’s swimwear prices have dropped drastically since early spring, particularly in its juniors’ department. Shop online and you’ll see discounts up to 40-percent off, but in-store you’ll find a wide selection of babe-worthy mix-and-match bikinis at 70-percent off. For those who like the ability to purchase different size tops and bottoms, this is the time to shop.
While you can certainly pair together a brand new bikini, you’ll see even more by updating your current swimwear with a top or bottom that coordinates with a bikini you already own. Because so many of Target’s suits are sold as separates, you can extend the life of your favorite bikini and give it a trendy twist that will carry you into next summer. Check out Target’s Xhilaration Junior’s Mix and Match Collection for colorful, flirty and comfortable mismatched bikini sets featuring “candy-colored patterns and stripes, twisted bandeaus and triangle bikini tops” that are perfect for pairing with its “hip hipsters, stylish strings or vintage-inspired bikini briefs.”
Victoria’s Secret has revealed the secret to scoring a sexy, stylish swimsuit and it’s as easy as shopping its swim sale. More than 600 of its hottest styles are on sale at 25- to 60-percent off, including fringed and bow-accented bandeau tops, sporty rashguards and monokinis. The retailer has also priced many of its mix-and-match separates as low as $13 and the year’s top-selling trends start at just $14.99.
Solid swimwear extends your savings into the next season
