The Rolling Stones played for the first time ever on June 4 in Israel. The legendary British rockers performed the historic show at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park.
According to a news release posted June 4 at their official website at RollingStones.com, The World’s Greatest Rock N’ Roll Band pumped out a 19-song setlist. Setlist change ups included the addition of their 1973 “Goat’s Head Soup” hit single “Angie,” as well as 1966 “Aftermath” hit “Paint It Black.” Both songs made their first appearances since the European 14 On Fire Tour leg kicked off last month in Oslo, Norway along with their 1965 single “Get Off My Cloud,” which was voted as online fan favourite.
Ex-Stone Mick Taylor performed as guest artist on “Midnight Rambler,” as well as on the encore “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” The Stones also brought in the Buchman Mehta School of Music as special guest backing vocalist on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” See below for the full setlist.
The “Honky Tonk Woman” hitmakers have already had a busy week, performing a sold out gig to 50,000 fans on June 1 in Zurich, Switzerland at Letzigrund Stadium. Tina Turner visited the band during the show and two Stones celebrated birthdays. Guitarist Ronnie Wood celebrated his 67th birthday on June 1, as well as his 39th anniversary as a member of The Rolling Stones while drummer Charlie Watts turned 73-years-old on June 2.
Last week, at their headline appearance at Rock In Rio in Lisbon, Portugal, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers were joined onstage by Bruce Springsteen and Gary Clark Jr. The Boss joined the band on their 1972 “Exile on Main St.” hit “Tumbling Dice” while Clark Jr. sat in during on their 1978 “Some Girls’ classic “Respectable.”
The Stones’ next stop will be a headline appearance on Sat., June 7 in the Netherlands at the Pinkpop Festival. For more information, check out RollingStones.com.
