The Sarah Palin Family Brawl – sounds like a Wikipedia entry. One may be forthcoming as the news of the raucous house party keeps a’coming. Police are investigating. Sarah Palin is keeping quiet. But witnesses have plenty to say about the throwdown that the Alaskan politician and her family brood meted out two weekends ago.
Writes People.com: “Sarah Palin’s eldest daughter, Bristol Palin, proved her right hook is a lot stronger than her (Dancing with the Stars) foxtrot, when she – and the rest of the Palin clan – allegedly got into a backwoods brawl at a snowmobile party in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sept. 6.”
According to media reports: Track Palin traded jabs with his sister Willow’s ex-boyfriend Conner Cleary, Sarah Palin’s hubby Todd had Conner’s father Steve in a headlock, Bristol took on the host of the party, reportedly slamming him with at least half a dozen rights, and Sarah was crawling all over the crowd to get involved in the kerfuffle, simultaneously name-dropping herself with “I’m Sarah palin!”
Todd walked away with a bloody nose, and the Palins as a group came out of the fracas with their reputations taking a solid uppercut on the chin.
Of course, the truth is somewhere in the middle, but the truckload of details dumped all over online gossip sites, and even accredited news sites, means that there’s more to this Palin-driven bout than was first reported.
“[Bristol] was punching [another man] in the face like six times; it was an assault if I’ve ever seen one,” said witness and guest Eric Thompson to ABC News, adding, “It wasn’t a light punch either. She was really hitting him.”
The birthday, originally reported as a surprise party for Todd Palin (who did also turn 50 over the weekend), was for family friends and twins Matt and Marc McKenna. The Palins arrived in a stretch limo.
Thompson said Willow and her older sister Bristol were verbally abusing Conner’s mother Melissa. “They were on a b-line, coming straight at Melissa,” he said. The host, Korey Klingenmeyer, then kicked them out; in response, Bristol started going street fighter all over Kory’s face.
“I was thoroughly amazed at the restraint Korey showed. He’s a total gentleman,” Thompson said.
Political blogger Amanda Coyne said guests reportedly heard Sarah scream, “Don’t you know who I am?” to which a guest yelled back, “This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!”
Actually, that’s exactly what it sounded like.
Writes the Daily Mail: “Finally, to cap it all off, Track stood out in front of the house with his shirt off and his middle finger raised at those who were leaving Shortly after this the fighting stopped, and the Palins got in their car for the evening, a stretch Hummer, and left. No sooner had the Palins left then the police showed up to take statements from some of the remaining guests.”
“It was a really nice, mellow party,” Thompson said. “Then it turned into the Jerry Springer show.”
Police spokesperson Jennifer Castro: “At the time of the incident, none of the involved parties wanted to press charges and no arrests were made. Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the incident. Some of the Palin family members were in attendance at the party.”
It appears Sarah is trying to distance herself from the whole thing. According to People, the failed VP lied about where she was that day.
The Palin family is not commenting on the widespread reports of the fight but in a Facebook message the day after the alleged altercation Sarah said she was posting her husband’s birthday greeting a day late because she’d been “traveling” on Saturday, the day of the party.
