SeaWorld San Diego is one of San Diego’s top attractions and ranks among the top 25 theme parks in the world. Each year millions of visitors from around the globe flock to the 190-acre aquatic theme park to see the park’s star attraction – Shamu.
Although the show, One Ocean, featuring killer whales is quite popular among visitors (and where kids love to tempt their luck in the ‘splash zone’), there is plenty of other incredible things to see and do at SeaWorld. Many exhibits at SeaWorld are interactive. Young explorers, as well as adults, will love petting bat rays, examining star fish and sea urchins, and feeding sea lions and dolphins. Wander through the many aquariums and get up-close to a variety of colorful fish, sea turtles, penguins, beluga whales, walruses, and even sharks! Visit Shamu’s Underwater Viewing area and come face-to-face with the majestic creatures as they glide beneath the water’s surface.
SeaWorld is all about fun and adventure, so soar and dive like a bat ray on their newest ride, Manta, a double-launch coaster. Or if getting wet on a hot summer afternoon is more your style then Journey to Atlantis, a thrilling coaster ride, and Shipwreck Rapids, a swirling tube-style ride, will definitely be on the must-ride list. But be sure to bring a towel, because riders will get wet! There are also plenty of rides for the younger adventures, such as Elmo’s Flying Fish and Abby’s Sea Star Spin rides.
For a beautiful sunset view over Mission Bay and to see a grand view of San Diego from above, take a relaxing ride on the SeaWorld Skytower or BaySide Skyride. Amazing shows, wild rides, delicious food, interactive exhibits, and nightly fireworks are just some of the fantastically fun things to see and do at SeaWorld San Diego. Check their website to learn more about special events, like Dining Poolside with Shamu, the Dolphin Interaction Program, and the Animal Spotlight Tour.
