Last night on “So You Think You Can Dance” it was announced that by the end of the show there would be the top 10 dancers, but that meant that four dancers would be eliminated. But they would still have a chance to be saved with their routines, as well as a solo performance in their individual styles.
First up were Bridget & Emilio with a Jazz routine choreographed by Ray Leeper, it was interesting, nothing out of this world however. Next were Rudy & Tanisha with a Contemporary number under the guidance of Mandy Moore, a story of seduction that according to the judges was a phenomenal performance. Then it was time for the first solo performance for one of the dancers at the bottom and Serge danced with passion and assertiveness. Next were Zack & Jacque with a Pasodoble routine created by Jean-Marc Genereux and it was outstanding the music loud and exotic and the moves mesmerizing telling a dark and passionate story. Then Carly came on for her solo routine, and perhaps nerves got the best of her, but she seemed to be holding back. Emily & Teddy were next with a Broadway routine by Warren Carlyle, and it was entertaining indeed, Emily appeared to have slipped at the start of the routine. Casey was up with his solo and he did an outstanding job. Emily’s solo was next and she was beautiful and romantic. Jessica & Casey were next with a Contemporary routine of two people in love under Travis Wall’s guidance, and their moves depicted just that an out of this world softness, passion, and beauty that only real love can portray. Teddy was the last of the guy’s solo dances and he was good. Next up were Serge & Carly with a Quickstep routine guided by Jean-Marc Genereux and the dancing was fascinating, such synchronization in a genre that requires speed and accuracy for it to be memorable, awesome job for both of them. Jessica’s solo was next and as always she was graceful and gorgeous on stage. Valerie & Ricky were next with a Hip-Hip routine choreographed by Christopher “Pharsioe” Jennings and Crystal “Phoenix” Meraz, a genre outside of both their comforts zones, but they rocked the house, outstanding moves and Valerie even did a leg wave while sitting down; fabulous performance.
Then it was time for the final decision, but based on the routines and the solo performances, it came as no surprise when Casey and Jessica were saved and moved into the top 10; they were outstanding and viewers can not wait for what is to come from this awesome pair.
