“Sons of Anarchy” is rumbling into your living rooms with the premiere episode for the last season tonight, Tuesday Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. on FX. Now that Jax is without Tara the canvas is pretty much open to all possibilities for a final story plot. One thing fans will notice, Jax no longer cares about being that good guy that he set his sights on from day one.
According to Seattle pi on Sept. 9, the season opens with Jax behind bars, as he was the one holding Tara’s dead body on the floor of his kitchen. You would think that with the amount of pain he was in, which is demonstrated with his harrowing wails, the cops would know he wasn’t the killer.
When season 7 opens, only a few weeks have gone by since Tara’s death so Jax is raw, suggests Cleveland.com. As Charlie Hunnam said in a recent interview, he recognizes this is the end of the show so his fictional life needs to be “wrapped up in one way or another.” He just never thinks about that kind of stuff, he tells the interviewer.
Hunnam said that his character Jax really hasn’t processed it all yet. He repressed the memories of the bloody body of his wife with him cradling her dead body on the floor. He is after vengeance and nothing more this time around. These bikers are already risk takers, so now that Jax is in another frame of mind, look for his risk taking to go off the charts.
If he doesn’t care if he lives or dies after losing Tara, then he is going to do things that even the most fearless wouldn’t attempt. Jax gets out of jail very early on in the season, as you may have surmised or it wouldn’t be much of a last season with him behind bars.
He hits the ground running with revenge on his mind and the person that deserves that revenge is mommy dearest, old Gemma herself. This is where the writers can have a field day with an emotional storm between Gemma and Jax, the day he finds out that it was her who killed Tara.
Katie Sagal defends Gemma saying that the “club comes first” and Gemma was under the impression that Tara was about to rat out Jax. In Gemma’s mind, she was taking care of the family by killing Tara.
Jax doesn’t know who to trust anymore so his circle of trusted souls has been narrowed down to only a few. This is the time that you’d love to see Opie because he probably was the only one that Jax could trust. Many in the club have had their own agendas at times and during those time the club didn’t come first. That would include Jax too.
Juice, who was booted by Jax from SAMCRO, is the only living soul who knows that Gemma killed Tara. Where does he stand this season? He’s either someone Gemma takes under her wing, or it wouldn’t be unlike Gemma to set him up to be the fall guy for Tara’s murder. If Jax knocks him off thinking he did Tara in, then the secret dies with him. MTV News suggests that Juices chances of survival through the entire final season are “slim” at best.
With that information on Gemma, Juice becomes one of the most dangerous people on “Sons of Anarchy” this season said Theo Rossi, who plays Juice. Kurt Sutter tells TV Guide one of the biggest questions this season is just how long will Juice and Gemma trust each other with their secrets. Don’t forget Juice shot the sheriff who walked in on Gemma after she killed Tara.
Unser, who feels like he has a commitment to Tara to save those boys, digs in a little too deep into Tara’s murder. Will he find something out that he just doesn’t want to know? After all Gemma is the love of his life even though Gemma’s love for him is like the love you have for a brother at best.
Gemma doesn’t really know love the way other folks do. She is all about the loyalty part of the deal, her emotions seem to switch on and off for her mate and even her family. After all she left her “grandbabies” without a mother. It will be Wendy who will raise Jax kids, so say the spoilers. Will Venus Van Dam become one of the club member’s old ladies? Tig was looking pretty interested last time that possibility was visited.
It’s the last season so there’s no need to leave loose ends to make sure the fans return. The writers and Sutter can blow the last season out of all proportion as “Sons of Anarchy” boys ride off into Charming’s sunset for the last time.
