Jax’s quest to rip Henry Lin’s world apart in retaliation for Tara’s murder creates new complications and new enemies in episode 3, “Playing with Monsters”, on “Sons of Anarchy.” Juice, who desperately wants back into the club but knows it’s a risky proposition, is feeling squeezed from all sides. The new sheriff in town, Althea Jarry has plans of her own, according to MTV on Sept 23.
August Marks has his suspicions about Jax and his boys killing off the Chinese gun buyers. Confronting Jax, he warns, “Don’t cross me, Jackson. I have no remorse killing you or any of the Sons.”
Realizing Marks can’t be trusted, Jax seeks to shore up his flank by turning to the Niners, a gang that Marks’ employs. In exchange for Jax taking care of an internal rebellion the Niners have going on, a new alliance is formed and Jax feels Marks is no longer a threat.
To further bolster his position, Jax gets the Grim Bastards to hit one a Lin Triad massage parlor and make it seem like they’re working for Marks. This is sure to set off a war between the Triad and Marks.
When the Triad follows SAMCRO’s tip about who hit their men during the gun buy, they come up one body short. The body that Jury was so attached to is missing.
During a phone call between Bobby and Jury, Jury plays his cards close to his vest. Bobby is looking for intel and Jury knows he’s lying. The connection between Jury and the missing dead man – the one he was cradling – is still unclear. His silent rage makes it plain to see that Jax has yet another enemy to contend with.
Juice, who is foolishly clinging to Charming, convinces Unser to arrange a meeting with Chibs. Unser’s price is intel on what happened. Juice is stingy with the intel but Unser arranges the meet at a local cop diner.
Juice begs for another chance to be part of the ‘Sons’ and wants to know what he can do to set things right. Chibs tells him he should flee and makes suggestion, “If I were you, I’d get out a gun, put it in my mouth, and pull the trigger.”
Message received. Juice allows Gemma and Wendy to move him to motel outside of Charming. Things aren’t going to be much easier here though. Jarry is making her play.
She wants Juice because he’s the only ‘Son’ who hasn’t been questioned in Tara’s murder. She is going to put out an APB on him and tells Jax so when they meet for the first time. He doesn’t know where Juice is, which happens to be the truth. She also tells him she wants info on the possible involvement the Chinese ay have had in Tara’s death. She’s working off of intel from Unser that came by way of Juice.
After she leaves, Jax thinks she can be bought. Since she seemed interested in Chibs, Jax sends Chibs to meet her with some cash. His request – hold off on that APB on Juice as it will only heat things up in Charming. She’ll stall it for a while but not indefinitely.
Jarry was brought on the scene at Nero’s place because of a scuffle that ended with Gemma getting popped in the face by a father of one of the girls. Nero retaliated and beat the tar out of Mr. Hoss, but Hoss told the cops that the attack by Nero was unprovoked. He wants to press charges on Gemma. Abel saw the whole thing go down and Jax and Gemma are not thrilled about any of it.
Later, Gemma pays Mr. Hoss a visit under the guise of making nice. When he opens the door to let her in, Jax bursts through the doorway and does what he does best, talks with his fists. Gemma watches intently, a sinister smile stealing over her face.
“Sons of Anarchy” returns next Tuesday with episode 4, “Poor Little Lambs”. We’ll keep you posted with updates and spoilers for the Final Ride.
