by yeah stub

Dr. Guy McPherson presents: “CLIMATE CRISIS: Are we there yet? An evening with Guy McPherson” As part of his Northwest tour this special presentation is being held at a local art gallery in Hayward on Sept. 29, 2014. Dr. McPherson will address the financial, economic, and societal effects that climate change causes around the world.

DATE: Monday, September 29
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: The Sun Gallery
ADDRESS: 1015 E Street, Hayward, CA

Dr. Guy McPherson, author, lecturer, eco-biologist and emeritus professor has been writing and connecting climate science dots for over 10 years. He hosts a radio show and a blog called “Nature Bats Last.”

His extensive research leads McPherson to believe that “our civilized way of life” is creating rapid changes to climate and habitat and this is bad news for most species on Earth, including humanity. Warming oceans and atmosphere, melting ice, and methane releases are all working together to create runaway climate change that will affect every aspect of our lives.
In the words of syndicated political cartoonist David Fitzsimmons, “His approach is disarming and his message is both life-changing and convincingly alarming. A blend of Paul Revere and Rachel Carson. . . A modern day John Muir with a global perspective.”

CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST, SOCIAL CRITIC, AND THOUGHT LEADER
Guy McPherson is an energetic speaker and a talented moderator. He has appeared before numerous audiences to speak about the two primary consequences of our fossil fuel addiction: global climate change and energy decline. Because these phenomena impact every aspect of life on Earth, his talks reach a wide variety of audiences such as those at universities, local associations, nonprofits, and a broad swath of educational and scientific symposia and conferences.

Guy is Professor Emeritus of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona, where he taught and conducted research for twenty award winning years. His scholarly work, which has for many years focused on conservation of biological diversity, has produced 10 books and more than 100 articles. He lives in an off-grid, straw bale house where he puts into practice his lifelong interest in sustainable living via organic gardening, raising small animals for eggs and milk, and working with members of his rural community.

Guy developed a comprehensive set of durable living arrangements in response to the ongoing collapse of the industrial economy and global climate change. He shares property in a rural area developed specifically to provide abundant supplies of food and water as well as maintaining comfortable room temperature in the absence of fossil fuels. He is available for consultation if you are serious about doing the same. Select presentations are available at McPherson’s YouTube channel where each presentation is uniquely prepared for a specific audience.
