A landlocked state’s dream come true, Stoic & Genuine is the hottest new addition to Denver’s dining scene. Sitting pretty in the renovated Union Station, Stoic & Genuine is a Northeastern style seafood restaurant with friendly Midwestern service.
Whether you’re craving fresh oysters, crab legs, lobster or fresh fish, they’ve got you covered. The Mussel Soup was a small portion with big taste, the Heirloom Tomato summer salad fresh and seductive with beautifully balanced shallots and smoked ricotta, and the Lobster Roll filling so succulent it transports you to the seaside.
For a moment you forget you’re in Denver, which is no wonder as the seafood is flown in fresh daily. Their saying “No Ocean. No Worries,” is ever so true. But seafood and exceptional service isn’t all they have going for them, they welcome you with a complimentary half glass of wine and they offer Granitas that are an absolute must. The Granita flavors change daily and they are so passionately-flavored and refreshing; they come highly recommended as a palate cleanser. The desserts are also an absolute must.
Stoic & Genuine is the master-work of Jennifer Jasinski, Executive Chef and James Beard Award Winner who is already well known for her other top Denver restaurants: Rioja, Bistro Vendôme and Euclid Hall.
This one you just have to try for yourself! The only regret is that they don’t offer gluten-free bread options.
