This book is packed with informative information on how to heal and prevent PMS symptoms from occurring. This book explains the many important functions of our hormones too. It shows you how you can normalize your hormonal cycle, so you can experience pain-free periods. The book teaches you many useful techniques to understanding your body, so you can provide your body with what it needs in order to experience painless periods and virtually no PMS symptoms.
The book begins by explain that our natural hormonal cycle. Author Cathy stresses that girls and adult women do not have to rely on over-the counter medications in order to experience a pain-free cycle. Cathy explains how women have choices and that there is other natural alternatives that can help girls, teens and women experience pain-free periods without all those terrible PMS symptoms that tag along with it.
Many doctors wanted to throw prescriptions left and right, but medications are not the answer. Actually, in the end they will harm your body and cause you to experience unnecessary problems, which could be avoided if you chose the natural alternative.
This book is ideal for girls who are being their menstrual cycle and do not quite understand all these drastic changes occurring in their body. I love how the author explains everything in a simple, yet detailed fashion and I adored how she threw in humorous chapter titles and phrases, making it fun to read and easy to relate to.
She provides the reader with all the necessary information a young girl needs to know about their body. Cathy explains why these changes in our body are occurring and what we can do to stabilize our body and help ease the process, so it does not have to be a horrifying experience that gives us an overwhelming abundance of negative emotions to deal with on a monthly basis.
This book is even beneficial for adult women too. It definitely taught me a thing or two and it gave me great insight on what I can do as a mother to help my daughter as she experiences all these traumatic changes going on in her body. This book gives you a clear understanding of how our imbalanced hormones can dramatically affect our lives. It made you feel like you are not alone. Millions of girls and adult women suffer from this problem.
In chapter 3, in the beginning of the book, on page 34, Cathy not only discusses the hormone estrogen, but she provides examples of what an overabundance of this hormone could do to your body. She provides informative information on what to look out for and what medical problems could occur if you have an overabundance in your body.
Cathy’s natural, holistic approach helped me realize that WE control our bodies. We can change the way we look and feel by providing our bodies with the vitamins and nutrients we need through the foods we eat and by strengthening our body through exercise and with other alternative natural supplements. We do not need to rely on pills. We need to rely on ourselves. Cathy even provides a study on page 69 that talks about the combination of estrogen/progestin birth control pills can increase the risks for breast cancer.
I enjoyed how the book provides you with the stepping-stones and techniques to prevent, treat, and overcome PMS the natural way. Cathy the author, provides the reader with extraordinary tools and techniques that help you achieve all your goals both long and short-term goals.
