Tonight, Oct. 29, “Survivor: San Juan Del Sur: Blood vs. Water” started out with Coyopa’s return to camp after Kelley was voted out. Dale was upset that his daughter had been taken out of the game and knew he would be next, so he showed Jon an “Immunity Idol.” Even though it wasn’t real, Jon believed Dale.
Hunahpu worried what they would have to barter with Jeff in order to get the second bag of rice. He showed up to their camp and gathered everyone to discuss. Reed admitted he hadn’t wanted to speak up and put a target on his back, and Josh said it wasn’t fun coming into a tribe that had such a small amount of food left. Jeff then told everyone he was taking all of their comfort items back in exchange for the rice.
Both tribes met Jeff for the Reward Challenge, which was played for a barbecue, complete with shish kabobs. Reed and Baylor both stepped forward to play, and they were each blindfolded as they worked their way through an obstacle course to collect puzzle pieces and put together a circular puzzle. Baylor struggled with the puzzle, and Reed pulled through and easily won. Reed cried tears of joy, while Baylor cried out of sadness for letting her team down. Reed was going to choose Julie to accompany Baylor to Exile Island, but Natalie volunteered and went in her place.
Natalie and Baylor arrived at Exile Island and agreed they needed to find the Immunity Idol. Natalie wanted to work with Missy and Baylor and thought she and Jeremy were next on the chopping block.
Jeremy started to feel threatened by Reed and Josh’s closeness. He was still frustrated that his tribe had given their tarp up when they won food during the reward anyway. The rain came and continued all through the night. Julie struggled and didn’t think she could make it through the night being wet.
The next day, everyone met Jeff for the Immunity Challenge. Both tribes had to move a giant wooden obstacle around to three different posts and swing a bag around a coil to unhook it. Once they had all of the bags, they had to put together a flag puzzle of eight pieces. Hunahpu came from behind and won immunity once again.
Back at camp, Dale tried to convince Jon that he would give him his Idol if he didn’t go home. They thought they would vote Missy out, since she had the most ties to the previous camp. Jon told the others in his alliance, and they agreed to split the votes between Dale and Keith.
At Tribal Council, the group told Jeff how stressful things had been. Baylor and Missy were both tearful as they discussed Baylor’s time at Exile Island. The tribe went around and around about who to vote for, who they could trust, and how to decide who they wanted to be with in the merge. After they voted, Jeff tallied and read the votes: Missy received one vote, Keith received two, and Dale received three, sending him home.
