Thanksgiving: Join The Ballantyne for a favorite tradition with Thanksgiving Brunch on Thursday, November 27, noon – 4pm. Enjoy a bountiful display of seasonal salads, decorative displays, carving stations with regional accompaniments and decadent desserts, as well as live entertainment. Cost is $75 per person, $35 for children, ages 5-13, and complimentary for children ages 4 and under (pricing does not include tax or 23% service charge). Private dining rooms are available for larger groups. Gallery Restaurant, Charlotte’s only Forbes Four-Star restaurant, will feature its regular menu and a traditional turkey dinner special. Hot Chocolate & Toddies: Get cozy in the Lobby on Friday – Sunday, December 5 through December 28, 2–5 pm. Enjoy hot chocolate with the option to add liqueur along with a selection of garnishes. The cost is $6 and $9 with liqueur.
Holiday Afternoon Tea: Enjoy Holiday Afternoon Tea in the Lobby throughout December. Holiday Afternoon Tea includes a variety of seasonal loose leaf tea blends and a selection of savory tea sandwiches, traditional confectionaries and holiday treats. Tea is served Wednesday – Sunday, December 3 through December 28, 1–5 pm (not available on Christmas). A harpist will perform during this time. The cost is $32 for adults and $16 for junior patrons (plus tax & gratuity). A champagne tea is available for $40 per person. Reservations are required at 704-248-4100.
Gingerbread Lane Professional & Amateur Competition: The Gingerbread Lane competition offers two independent categories for professional and amateur entries. Both categories will feature enticing prizes, including overnight packages at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge and a $500 gift card to Publix, a sponsor of this year’s event. Gingerbread creations must be delivered to the hotel between Saturday, December 6 at 9 am and Tuesday, December 9 at 6 pm. Judging will take place on Wednesday, December 10 at 3pm.
Gingerbread Lane: Visit the Ballantyne to view an enchanting display of gingerbread creations from Thursday, December 11 through Sunday, December 28. Attendees may vote on their favorite entries with $1 minimum donation per vote. All proceeds will benefit Levine Children’s Hospital, dedicated to caring for the physical and emotional needs of children and their families.
Christmas: The hotel will offer Christmas Brunch on Thursday, December 25, noon – 4 pm. The elaborate buffet will include a variety of salads, an assortment of cheese and seafood displays, breakfast items with omelet station, carving station and indigenous desserts. Private dining rooms are available. Gallery Restaurant will be open for dinner on Christmas Eve, 4–9 pm. The restaurant will feature its regular menu as well as offer a prime rib dinner special on Christmas. Reservations are required for dining on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Winter Getaway Package: The Winter Getaway Package includes elegant accommodations, a one-time $50 credit per room, which can be used for dining, spa, golf and Dana Rader Golf School, as well as complimentary internet access and valet parking. The package will be offered November 21, 2014 – February 12, 2015.
New Year’s Eve Dinner Package: Celebrate 2015 in style with an overnight stay at The Ballantyne. The New Year’s Eve Dinner Package includes a luxurious room, dinner for two in Gallery Restaurant, valet parking, internet access and a 4 pm late check-out. The package features a special dinner menu and party access. Dressy attire is recommended. Pricing starts at $379 plus tax and gratuity, and the package requires a 72-hour cancellation policy.
New Year’s Eve Party: For guests staying at the hotel or dining in Gallery Restaurant, The Ballantyne will offer a New Year’s Eve Party beginning at 9 pm.
