I had never been to one of the Dallas Red Foundations’ Red events, so I was hesitant while getting ready last Friday evening whether or not it would be a fun, successful evening. My friend, Cody Lynch, invited me to the event & was thrilled to do a write up before and after the party. Two weeks ago, The Dallas Red Foundation hosted a happy hour at The Illume. The public was introduced to board directors of the foundation and were able to purchase tickets to the event. This was a success; the happy hour attracted a decent crowd and numerous tickets were sold to The 6th Annual Red Party.
So how was The 6th Annual Red Party? Wonderfully executed and extremely entertaining. From the moment my friends and I walked into the venue, we immediately were greeted by multiple board members of The Dallas Red Foundation. The annual soiree benefits the Legacy Counseling Center, a non-profit organization that provides affordable, quality mental healthcare and emotional support services to hundreds of men and women challenged with HIV or AIDS. The center offers individual, group, and family counseling by fully licensed professionals. The agency also provides a 24-hour emergency hotline available to anyone facing suicidal or other crisis situations related to their diagnosis or current medical condition. A charity I strongly support, no high price can get in the way of what this special organization contributes and offers human beings everywhere.
The Globe – Event Space was the sexy venue and the music was on point. Music was provided by DJ Patrick Kuzara, a young, hunky gentlemen who glows with confidence and passion. Man can he spin, too! He had the entire crowd moving and shaking throughout the Globe. He played various Top 40 hits with a remix on many + EDM/Dance Music that kept the evening flowing, people mingling and a success for not only The Dallas Red Foundation, but The Legacy Counseling Center as well.
A special performance by Adore Delano was wicked cool as well. She had a unique edge to her routine, something rarely seen at Station 4 or any other gay bar around the country. Instead of the overdone, typical Cher, Britney & Gaga numbers, Delano ripped into a seductive, almost rock n’ roll tune that gave bitchin’ a new meaning. I loved her performance and her ability to interact and engage with the audience was outstanding, brilliant and out of this world entertaining. You literally couldn’t take your eyes of her, unless of course checking out the unbelievable eye candy inside the venue. Not only was the party swarmed with attracted men, but such generous ones, too. Everyone was all smiles, radiating with positive energy and excitement as everyone was treated with respect, equality & love.
I’ve seen many cities throughout the United States and attended some pretty awesome events with great people, but Dallas never fails to outshine the competition. Dallas has become an ultimate destination for the gay lifestyle and each year the community is welcomed by more groups who at first would never think to endorse a gay foundation. I am so proud of the Dallas Red Foundation and the wonderful group of guys who make it all happen.
The 6th Annual Red Party was an amazing event and executed sharply by The Dallas Red Foundation. 400+ people attended the event as each year this party attracts more people, especially the big dogs. There were three photographers on hand to capture all of the nights action: Chuck Marcelo, Sandy Hibbard & Mike Weaver. Great shots guys!
Michael Sam was in attendance Friday night and socialized with all walks of life during the party. One of the nicest men I have ever met to tell you the truth. Great guy, humble and extremely generous. Having Michael Sam at the event the icing on the cake to an unbelievably, exceptional event.
Well done, Dallas Red Foundation. You’ve truly made this annual event vibrant, energetic and positive that reflects our community with class, elegance and style. Can’t wait to see what 2015 brings.
