As New York gets revved up for the SS15 season of Fashion Week, this past week has been a great teaser with what truly seems like and ‘Endless Summer’. Each night has been better than the last! Nightlife in New York proves over and over again to be thriving, vibrant along with exciting! Beginning with the Victorinox Watch Event featuring the most handsome firefighters and ending with celebrity sightings galore as well as some savory culinary delights from both Nino’s Ristorante Italiano and Beyond Sushi.
Nino’s Ristorante located on First Avenue on the Upper East Side is one of those special dining establishments. Perfect lighting, gracious servers, excellent food and ambiance. Nino’s introduced members of the media to a new bar menu with Italian favorite dishes including: Portabella mushrooms sauteed in garlic and also a scrumptious Rigatoni dish with Vodka sauce. Tasty indeed! For the complete menu, hours and operations, please visit: http://www.twitter.com/ninoson1st. A full bar menu is also available.
Victorinox Watches hosted a hot night with some of the most gorgeous men in uniform to introduce the INOX: the new Victorinox watch collection, makers of the Swiss Army Knives. It was carefully executed, very posh and SIR Stages was the ideal venue for this spectacular event. To learn more, please visit: http://www.swissarmy.com.
After an intoxicating night of revelry, the best quick-fix is a light detox and healthy meal. Beyond Sushi on 14th Street, just steps away from IHOP and The Beauty Bar is a cozy, well-designed cafe with vegetarian wraps, sushi, soups, salads and refreshing juices. Some of the most popular rolls on the Beyond Sushi menu include: Pickle Me, Mighty Mushroom and Spicy Mang.
The Pickle Me roll consists of six grain rice, gobo, carrot, pickled daikon and avocado. Mighty Mushroom is made with shiitake mushrooms, enoki, rice, tofu and micro arugula. Spicy Mang is the best seller of all with black rice, avocado, mango, English cucumber and spicy veggies.
With Fashion week beginning next week, it was interesting to learn about how one of the owners worked in PR at KCD just prior to the Beyond Sushi venture. With two locations to choose from: the first, near Union Square, the second in the Chelsea Market and the third to open later this fall. For a complete menu or catering options, please visit: http://www.beyondsushinyc.com. Let’s hope they place an order backstage at the tents for the models to snack on after the show!
The grand finale this week, DuJour Magazine rolled out the red carpet again at Lavo with the Fall Fashion issue featuring Kendall and Kylie Jenner. However, the true It Girl last night was none other than Dr. Ruth Westheimer. It was shockingly thrilling to see how Dr. Ruth can still bring in the crowds, year after year! Lavo is a well-appointed venue with comfortable lounges seated directly on the dance floor, complete with crystal disco balls overhead. This tastefully designed nightclub also serves some very yummy appetizers too. Please visit: http://www.lavony.com for more information.
Have a great weekend and check back for the best on the Fashion Front from the tents, Pier 59 as well as other locations!
Happy Labor Day!
