Transcend the boundaries of self None of us is perfect. No one is better than the other. Liberating oneself from suffering. Appreciating others is what makes what is wonderful in others belong to us as well. Going through life on automatic, not really being aware of yourself. Many people react on their feelings and emotions which leads many to believe they are aware of self, but they are not.
When you see yourself as separate you struggle because you compare yourself with others Negative emotions are everyone’s experience and the basis of the truth and how to overcome suffering. It’s the gateway to an intimate relationship with ourselves.
Learning to understand what emotions are about and how they affect our life Usually people begin to get intimate with their emotions when they are in crisis mode meaning we are overwhelmed by them. Maybe life isn’t what you expected. “It’s not fair.” What can you do? Yu do it by not overcoming your emotions. You overcome by not getting rid of them but by working through the emotions. You can’t get rid of loneliness or anger, or the end of a relationship but you learn to become more centered and o and you make a place at the table for the emotion. But we go through life at the speed of sound ignoring our trueness and avoiding it by consumerism.
Understanding to become insightful about ourself Grumble grumble it sounds like too much work, bull and malarkey all ready. Emotions that lead to more thoughts, and thoughts that lead to more emotions. That’s the big part of it all is wanting to run away. Everyone is looking for the ’easy’ button. The dark night of the soul is equinonimous, we don’t want to learn to accept ourselves. We want to accept the good and the happy of ourself and not the negative. We’ve been programmed that the negative part of human being is not acceptable in the community.
So we cultivate not wanting to face life That is what ‘practice’ is about. It’s practicing being stressful, it’s being aware of the stressfullness and the parts of our life and or ourself we do not accept. Can we accept the difficulties. You feel it, you see it. You learn to accept it. What does it mean to be a human? Emotions and human thought don’t act on automatic with automatic responses we can handle. We learn to calm the body down and to calm the mind down instead of fighting all of the mental stuff we put ourself through.
Practicing to stop that repetition of stories We are sensing beings, constantly sensing. The emotions are a reflection of the energy going on within. The mother is holding the baby, and the baby is our emotions. Don’t leave the baby over there crying go over and pick the baby up.
Learning to let go It begins with letting go of the physical wants. The car, the house, the extra pairs of shoes. Then we need to learn to let go of the extra unwanted emotions. Something more, ways to be critical, ways to be unhappy or condemning-ideas driven by emotions. Do you want more negativity in your mind? The little bit of negativity that is already there in the mind is enough. The other question is, do you want to put this on other people.
The mind is always going to produce one thing or the other. Take one day and just observe the mind where does it take you where does it go and get itself into. Instead, change he peg, and bring more positive things into the mind and into our lives. If we approach it from a more positive space it replaces the negativity with something more beneficial.
How do you approach longstanding difficulties Do you replace the mud with the lotus? What’s more important the difficulties or the good times? They are one in the same. You can’t have one without the other. It’s the nature of how things work in the universe. When we suffer we are separate and lonely. Because of our pain we think separate and disconnect. But the sun is still there, we are all still very connected, it’s just our suffering wouldn’t allow us to see it.
Humans have a great capacity Have you ever thought of yourself as having the potential for greatness, for great loving, for great insight, for great patience. Learn about your great capacities. As much as you think you are stuck in your head, you have the capacity to change that. What do you want to become?
