Drew Thaler has added more details in regards to the graphics of two upcoming PS4 video games, “The Last of Us Remastered” and “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” According to a report from Gamepur on June 28, the programmer from Naughty Dog first re-confirmed that the video game is going to used up all of the free space on the 50 GB Blu-ray disc. The original PS3 version required 27 GB of free space when downloading from the Playstation Store.
The extra space is needed so that Naughty Dog will be able to increase the resolution of the graphics in “The Last of Us Remastered.” The development team is also enhancing the audio capabilities of the port. Finally, the two multiplayer DLC maps added 1 GB to the disc while the “Left Behind” campaign expansion required another 5 GB.
Despite all the extra data, the port actually loads faster when compared to “The Last of Us” on the PS3. Drew Thaler explained that the 8 GB of GDDR5 Ram increased the loading speed even though a portion of the hardware has been allocated to the operating system of the next-generation system. Finally, he disclosed that the development for the PS4 version is almost done, adding that it is looking visually impressive.
The programmer also shared the same sentiment on “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.” The first real-time footage was shown off during the E3 2014 event that occurred several weeks ago. The sequel is expected to run at 60 frames per second with a native resolution set to 1080p.
The official release date for “The Last of Us Remastered” is July 29. “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” is due to come out for the PS4 sometime in 2015, most likely during the fall season.
