Los Angele – The Simpsons take over an entire weekend of the Hollywood Bowl’s season with the world premiere of The Simpsons Take the Bowl! from Friday, September 12 – Sunday September 14.
The event, hosted by Hank Azaria, includes special guest appearances and performances by Nancy Cartwright, Beverly D’Angelo, Jon Lovitz, Yeardley Smith, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Conan O’Brien, the Gay Men’s Chorus and the show’s creator Matt Groening. The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale.
From the moment fans enter the Bowl’s amphitheater, they will encounter an immersive, carnivalesque atmosphere, where secrets will be revealed, never-before-seen clips will be unveiled, and the world of Springfield will come to life. This special event in celebration of more than 25 seasons and 500 episodes of The Simpsons, the longest running sitcom ever, features classic clips, synchronized to live accompaniment by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by conductor Thomas Wilkins.
Known for its dead-on satire and razor-sharp wit, The Simpsons is widely considered to be one of the greatest TV shows of all time, winning 28 Primetime Emmy awards. The dysfunctional family was conceived by Groening and was first seen as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and debuted December 17, 1989.
The Simpsons Take The Bowl take place at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, September 12 & Saturday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. The Hollywood Bowl is located in the Hollywood Hills at 2301 N. Highland Avenue.
