New York’s Fashion Week is coming to Canton on Thursday, September 11, 2014. This is the date that Saks Fifth Avenue will be coming to Canton for an evening fashion show presented by the Symphony League of Canton. The proceeds will go towards the educational outreach programs of the Canton Symphony Orchestra.
The event will be held in the Cultural Center for the Arts with the majestic statue of Pegasus as the backdrop. The high energy light and sound show will be provided by Rock the House with beautiful floral arrangements supplied by Something New Floral and Events and the entire event is catered by Brookside Country Club. The fashion show will showcase the latest in men’s and women’s fashion from the exclusive collection from Saks Fifth Avenue. Chairing this exciting event will be Leda Kendig with Gayle DiPietro as co-chair.
Kendig emphasized that the show is premiering clothing for both men and woman. “Woman should encourage their husbands, boyfriends, and sons to attend since there will be something for everyone.”
Preparations for this event have been going on since last December and Saks Fifth avenue has ordered in exclusive fashions from top designer brands just for this red carpet event.
“The evening event will be quite different from other Stark County fashion shows” said DiPietro. Along with the fashion show, there will be a cocktail party, and a raffle that includes a Saks Fifth Avenue shopping spree, and donations from Canton’s own Gasser Fine Jewelers, Brookside Country Club, and women’s clothier Lingenfelter Brill. “This will be an evening of glamour and fashion, all in support of the Canton Symphony Orchestra’s efforts in opening the doors to music to the youth of our community,” Kendig added.
Lisa Boyer, Director of Education and Community Engagement for the CSO, said “The Canton community is very fortunate to have a professional orchestra available to them as a resource. Events like the fashion show allow for the orchestra to grow and provide even more opportunities for those in the community.”
Tickets for the Symphony of Style can be purchased by calling the Canton Symphony Orchestra box office at (330) 452-2094 or on line at www.cantonsymphony.org. VIP seating with exclusive perks will be available by phone order only.
