We are about three weeks away from the Season 5 premiere of “The Walking Dead” and the spoilers are coming fast and furious. We’ve rounded up the Season 5 synopsis, confirmation on rumors about Washington DC and other spoilers for you. Christian Post confirmed some casting promotions on Sept. 20, too. Let’s take a look at the synopsis first to see where we’re headed.
“Season Four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate. Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group’s lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive.
Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them…
After all they’ve seen, all they’ve done, all they’ve sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost… Who do they become?”
So it looks like Rick and company will be heading for Washington D.C. to find that cure Eugene seems to know so much about. From the synopsis and various trailers we’ve seen so far, it seems like Gareth may help the group but to what extent is unclear. We also know that Carol, Tyreese and Judith are reunited with the core group. This could make for a large travelling party on the road to the Capital.
Keep in mind we still have no word on where Beth is or what’s become of her. In one video clip making the rounds, she is seen at a hospital in a compound. Some have suggested she may have made it to the Alexandria Safe Zone from the comic books.
The Epoch Times reported that the numerous rumors circulating about Glenn’s alleged death may not be true. The rumors contended that he was killed early in the season at Terminus, possibly by comic book character Negan. From the pictures recently released, it appears he as well as Michonne, Daryl and Father Gabriel are still alive in episode 2.
Good news for actors Andrew J. West, Alanna Masterson, and Christian Serratos. They have all been boosted to series regulars. This means we’ll be seeing more of Gareth, Tara Chambler, and Rosita Espinosa.
“The Walking Dead” Season 5 will premiere on Sunday, Oct. 12. It will have 16 episodes.
