Season 4 of “The Walking Dead” left on a cliffhanger, with Rick and several others from Team Prison being held captive in a train car. Now that season 5 is only a few weeks away, the anticipation is building. On Sept. 22, AMC uploaded a trailer for “The Walking Dead” season 5 and it appears as if Terminus will be destroyed.
The clip stars off with showing several walkers walking through Terminus, all headed in the same direction. Many have parts of their tattered clothing on fire. It is clear that Gareth and his group wouldn’t sabatoge their own “sanctuary.” Obviously Team Prison has something to do with it. “The Walking Dead” season 5 spoilers revealed months ago that the the group would escape Terminus early on, but it has also been teased that Gareth will still be a problem.
Next on the trailer a nearly unrecognizable Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is seen quickly drawing his weapon. He definitely looks like he has had enough. He no longer resembles the nice cop who tried to reason with people like in the first season. He has gone through a few different transformations throughout the years and it has all led up to Rick looking like a man not to screw around with.
The next scene shows Rick either being dragged or picked up by characters that are unidentified. Speculation says that the group at Terminus is leading him somewhere, but could they be fellow prisoners? Rick has a holster on his side, although it isn’t clear if he has his gun in it or not. Next thing you know, Rick falls down to the ground, hitting his head hard.
Then there are several flashes of scenes that fans have already seen in “The Walking Dead” season 5 trailer that was unveiled at Comic-Con. The group bound and gagged, Gareth getting close to Rick with that smirk on his face and other scenes. Then there is an explosion and zombies are thrown sky high in every direction.
Other scenes revealed in “The Walking Dead” season 5 trailer include the group walking into a church with their weapons drawn, Team Prison walking cautiously through the woods, Tyreese looking out the window of an old house as if he heard something outside and Carol looking pretty beat up, pointing her gun at someone demanding to know where “they” are.
Several phrases are spoken throughout the clip. “We don’t know what’s coming next” and “They could be anywhere” are two of them. “The Walking Dead” season 5 has the tagline “Hunt or be hunted” and Rick says for the group not to hesitate, meaning not to think twice about killing.
Even though it is clear that Team Prison escapes Terminus at the beginning of “The Walking Dead” season 5 and that Terminus appears to be destroyed, it seems that Gareth and perhaps some of the other residents are going to remain a problem.
