Treat yourself to an afternoon filled with sampling fine wine and tasty cuisine in the heart of Northeast Ohio wine country when you attend the Winegrowers of the Grand River Valley Turkey Trot (a Progressive Wine Tasting event) being held at 5 area wineries on Saturday, November 8. All participating wineries are approximately a one hour drive from Cleveland.
Turkey Trot Progressive Wine Tasting Taking place at Grand River Cellars in Madison, Ferrante Winery in Geneva, Debonne Vineyards in Madison, Laurello Vineyards in Geneva and St Joseph Vineyards in Madison, this self-driving tour lets guests savor fine wines from each venue paired with delectable appetizers representing a traditional Thanksgiving feast.
Menu items include turkey sliders at Debonne Vineyards, roasted butternut squash & cranberry cous cous at Ferrante Winery, bourbon & walnut sweet potato mash at Grand River Cellars, turkey pesto & polenta at Laurello Vineyards and cranberry-walnut stuffing with diced turkey at St. Joseph Vineyards all paired with an appropriate wine. (Get an idea which wines you want to buy for the upcoming holidays).
Hours for the Turkey Trot Progressive Wine Tasting event are 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Cost is $5 per person at each winery and it includes the wine samples, food pairings and recipes. Bring a canned food item into each winery and get a $1 discount at the winery. All canned food item donations will go to local food banks.
