The network ordered 10 episodes for that 2nd season beginning Jan. 17, 2014. The popularity of the TV show prompted TNT to add 8 additional episodes for a summer run beginning June 6, 2014.
This is a “rewind” back to season two, episode nine called, “Lady in a box” (03/14/2014). This is a cable TV show & due to the nature of the subject matter. Viewer discretion is advised. We follow a former prosecutor named Kelly Siegler & real crime scene investigator (CSI) Yolanda McClary, as they open a cold homicide case.
Kelly & Yolanda travel to Aurora, Colorada & discuss Carolyn Jansen (43) who went missing in 2002. Richard Johnson who lives in Denver kept smelling an odor coming from his back shed. He uncovered a plastic container box that held a dead body & called 911 in the summer of 2005. Carolyn was called a gypsy who traveled with her beauty product business. One of her daughters had been searching for her biological mother who turns out to be Carolyn.
Richard was considered a suspect. Police questioned why he never really looked where that odor came from. He thought it was cats who got into his shed. They also found out that he was a “hoarder” who kept everything. He even placed video cameras in his bathroom to watch women. The second suspect was JD Harrington who had lived with Carolyn in a tiny apartment. He was kicked out of the building for not paying his rent. He had asked Richard to store his personal stuff including that container box.
Yolanda took a closer look at a 32 gallon container box. She said that there was DNA on both sides of the duct tape that wrapped up the box. Richard’s DNA finger prints were on the outside of the tape so he can check to see what was inside it. They have to wait for the DNA on the inside of the tape which might be JD’s. He wrapped up that box.
The detectives interview Richard & JD who becomes angry. He is forced by court order to give a DNA sample. If JD killed Carolyn, then why did he? Is Richard in the clear of Carolyn’s murder? You can watch “Lady in a box” over at TNT.
