Recently printed online in Vintage Masters, Tolarian academy is a legendary Magic: The Gathering land card from Urza’s Saga that’s restricted in Vintage, and for good reason. Tolarian Academy can produce a ridiculous amount of blue mana for its controller.

The academy worked with time—until time ran out.
In a deck surrounded by broken artifacts ranging from Moxes and Sol Ring to Time Vault and Voltaic Key, Tolarian Academy can help create a devastating Yawgmoth’s Will turn (especially when untapped with Candelabra of Tawnos), allowing you to recast Ancestral Recall, Time Walk, and every other amazing blue spell in your graveyard. Or you know, just power out a Jace, the Mindsculptor.
Artifact lands such as Darksteel Citadel and Seat of the Synod will also help fuel Tolarian Academy, and it’s a best friend to many Affinity players and hangs still with old pals like Frogmite. Newer additions to the gang include Master Etherium, Steel Overseer, and Etched Champion.
How will you use Tolarian Academy? Please let us know in the comments or via social media.
