The Starlight Ball is MPAC’s largest fundraising event of the year. This year’s event celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Theatre, and will feature performances by Broadway star Tom Wopat, as well as MPAC’s Performing Arts Company, comprised of two dozen talented aspiring artists between the ages of 12-18.
“The Starlight Ball is a wonderful evening that brings the community together to celebrate the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s mission as Northern New Jersey’s primary cultural center,” commented Allison Larena, President and CEO of MPAC. “This fundraiser will be a memorable night filled with music, dancing, entertainment, and an exciting auction that will raise funds to ensure that MPAC will continue to offer high quality entertainment in Morristown and enrich the lives of so many children through our esteemed education initiatives.”
The Starlight Ball features an exciting array of silent auction items, dinner, and dancing to the Tom Costello Orchestra. Sponsorship packages are available from $5,000 – $25,000. Individual tickets range from $350 -$1,000, and can be purchased online or by calling the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Development office at 973-539-0345 X 6526.
Starlight Award Honorees John and Margaret Post are being recognized for their longstanding commitment and dedicated support of the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Their extraordinary support of three capital campaigns helped transform MPAC into one of the most beautiful state-of-the-art venues in the region. They established the John A. and Margaret Post Foundation in 1995 and championed numerous causes including local hospitals, schools, the Red Cross, the United Way, and many agencies for disadvantaged individuals and families. Their generosity has changed countless lives both here and throughout Northwest New Jersey and the Slate Belt region of Pennsylvania.
MPAC is honoring Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP with the John T. Cunningham Award in appreciation of their outstanding support of the Theatre. Their generous pro bono work representing MPAC through labor negotiations helped MPAC to create its first ever collective bargaining agreement with the stagehands union. A national law firm with 11 offices and approximately 650 attorneys, Drinker Biddle has earned a reputation for providing exceptional legal service to businesses and individuals throughout the United States. The firm is also known for its strong commitment to community service—actively seeking opportunities to make a positive impact on the communities where its lawyers work. With offices in Florham Park and Princeton, Drinker Biddle has a storied history in the Garden State and has more lawyers in the state than any other Am Law 100 firm. Its New Jersey presence continues to grow, and today boasts some of the most recognized leaders in the legal profession.
To date, The Mayo Performing Arts Center has received major support for the 2014 Starlight Ball from: Private Advisor Group (Dinner Sponsor), Drinker Biddle (Cocktail Reception Sponsor) Gold Sponsors: John and Margaret Post, Mary Jane Robertson and James A. Clark, Doug and Tracey Sieg.
